Highly doubt that is it. Bugs happen, and consoles get it alot because of MS and Sony policies (in regards to subs)
I had the same problem the other day, the 3rd of july. I logged in during the evening to find out that my eso+ was not active.
I decided to contact both ZOS and MS about it the next day, to fix it before the eso+ bonus event, don't wanna miss out on free crown crates.
Anyway the next day, today, the 4th of july, i logged in to eso just to make sure before i contacted support, to find out that eso+ was active once again.
Maybe something made the payment, or whatever process delayed and therefore it got put on 'not active' and now the system has cought up again and therefor it now is back to 'active'? I don't know, i have no knowledge of how these type of things work.
All i know is that im on xbox one eu server, my xbox and the MS website said that my account was 'active', my payment was made, but my game said 'not active' and the next day everything was fine again. Maybe the same applies to you?
If not contact MS support they are able to fix it within a day, they did that for me last year when the same thing happened, only thing different then was that it did not sort itself out, like it did today.

I am in the same boat....my renew date is the 4th of every month and today I logged in to no eso+. Amazing this is an issue.....got on chat support with MS and they said they resolved it (didn't say what) and of course no love....no eso+. Hopefully the "system", lol, updates at some point.
The disconnect between MS and Zenimax is a joke.....not sure it is any better being a PS4 owner but at least they get a discount for purchasing more than one month of eso+.

MS Xbox support canceled my subscription. I then went in-game and bought it and all is well. This was after them having me delete my gaming profile (which they restored). MS can fix it on their end but it sounds as if it was "3rd party issue" their words not mine.

Ms told me they could probably fix it by canceled my sub and then had me repurchase it again.. But this would mean me having to pay for my Eso plus 8 days early. I was also worried that it might get messed up and then i would not be eligible for the Eso plus bonus event!

This morning when I woke up I started doing some crafting and quickly got the message that my bag was full when I was trying to deconstruck some stuff. The I noticed that my ESO Plus membership was gone. I checked my email and today I got a message from Microsoft saying my ESO Plus membership has been renewed (I actually get billed for it on the 14th of every month, plus that is when I get my crowns).
I am on xbox one EU, is anyone else having this problem? This really sucks as today is a holiday in America.

I had this happen on xbox NA mine kept turning on and off over a couple days it's back on now but baaupporr just said cancel and renew your sub to fix it I was like what about rest if my time? They didn't care
