Well, I'm sorry to break it to you all but... I've just received confirmation that a ZOS server hamster, Ricky, passed away shortly after the release of Morrowind.

Ricky was one of the most valued and hard working server hamsters in the service; however the extra strain was simply too much for him, causing his tiny heart to give out. Zeni has yet to find a replacement quite like him, resulting in massive amounts of lag being experienced by the players.

I've had zero lag problems until today, but I've had it all day and it's getting worse. Everything is fine on my end

I might be the only one the least bit semi-glad to see this thread. Comcast had to re-string an overhead line that came down in a storm yesterday and when I logged in today the rubberbanding and lag was really bad. I instantly thought they had dinked my speeds or something. Everything else checks out for speed/latency with online tests so it has to be the game creating the problems.

I turned on the in-game latency UI and it maxes at "999+" when there's a spike. How do some of you see the numbers above that?

Yup, having the same issue. Atm having 200 ping is like heaven (not really good in reality) and suddenly keep jumping to 600 ping then 999+ ping, teleporting all around till I see loading screen and I am way different location than before.

Combat is impossible to do properly, doing shopping or writs/crafting is unreliable because after you attempt to craft something it gets stuck and find out you didn't make it after all.

I'd be fine with this type of server issues if they at least addressed it properly, telling us they are working on it/DDoS attacks or whatever.

But since everything is kept in dark, makes you really question that... what the actual f***?

I just told you, bud. Your lack of stars is causing the lag. Get that 11th star- it'll stop the lag!

Massive lags spikes just tonight alone on PC-NA. Smaller ones while I was in Ruins of Mazzatun, much longer ones just questing overland in Vvardenfell. Seems this is the new "normal."

I should have enough if ZoS unlocks them . I grinded awesomes for a year .

I crashed in mid air an can't get back in the game . This one has to procure margarita mixes for tomorrow's festivities anyways and load up on moonsugar and salt . I think I created enough salt Ingame tonight over lag .

Lol I got kicked from server cuz of "excessive messaging", didn't message anyone at all. Ping was +999 though. Gonna say that was the actual issue.

I just got kicked from PC NA after a massive lag spike. I'd noticed a few on the weekend - things like chat text taking literally seconds to appear - but I wasn't sure of the cause because Internet hiccups can produce the same symptoms. However, it does seem to be the server(s) and it does seem to be getting worse.

I had noticed the last few days were pretty bad, but I thought it may have to do with a new add on I am using. Or maybe even the zone I have been in for the last day or so. Glad to know that it isn't something on my end.

Ya, I've been getting lag spikes recently too. I was playing in Wrothgar tonight and we were all comparing our pings (400 - 999+). It got so bad that it DC'd me and I couldn't login again due to server error 202.

I'm on PC NA and I too have suffered horrible game lag over the past few days. It's gotten worse for me since last night and this morning. I have made multiple attempts to play but the lag is making the game totally unplayable.

I have encountered multi game crashes, gotten kicked when just trying to use something or get a writ. A few times, the login screen wasn't even able to retrieve any announcements and of course my attempt to login failed. Even had a situation where I got the "Unable to connect to game server - Please make sure you have a valid internet connection."

I checked to be sure and both my PC and internet connection are fine.

Not fun!

I gave up tonight too. I didn't get completely kicked to my desktop, but I got kicked to the login screen at least 3 times. Twice I was running toward my destination and it snapped me back to where I started with no explanation. I generally don't complain, but something has got to give here.

Been kicked back to log in 3 times and I've only been on for less than an hour. I'm not even in combat, just been doing inventory management and bank stuff.

For how much they make off of crown crates and plus subs, you would think they would invest into their damned servers..

Things got really bad in our house only over the past hour or two. My wife and I did a dungeon (VoM) a couple of hours ago with no problem. But we just tried another one (Banished Cells), and we couldn't get our skills to fire, our bars to swap, and so on. After a few deaths we rage quit.

Immediately before that try we had huge problems with UI responsiveness at banks, while morphing skills, and so on. There seems to be a general problem that a lot of commands simply aren't being executed.

The lag this evening was just terrible. I think ZOS needs to stop worrying about getting new subscribers to ESO+ until they fix the issues they currently have with the servers. Just adding more people certainly won't help the issue.

All you with lag issues... Have you tried forcing your DNS to a larger known host? Google has two established DNS that are very stable and may fix your issues.

The addresses are:
8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4

Make sure you document your current DNS before trying new ones in case you want to go back. Hopefully this helps

This is the first time since returning several months ago that I can honestly say this game is not fun. That's saying a lot too...I've been hooked, but this is madness.

Just finished a session of ESO this morning, and there were a ton of lag spikes. Other people in zone chat were having the same issue, and I eventually just got kicked to login.
