Buying Morrowind

ESOMark
ESOMark
Hey everyone! So I was looking to buy Morrowind DLC some place cheap and was looking on eBay and plenty of other websites and decided on eBay. Sorry if this is a noob question but is Morrowind like a whole new disc separate from the original ESO Disc? For example, if it is disc, will I be able to insert it into my Xbox and get access to all the dlc? The seller stated that he used all the pre order bonuses but I'm just interested in the base Morrowind dlc.

Thanks for any insight or advice.

Morrowind will give you access to the Morrowind "Chapter" and the base game.

It won't give you access to Thieves Guild, Dark Brotherhood etc.

You can either play them by subscribing to ESO Plus ($10-$15 per month depending on local currency), or purchase them separately or in a bundle.

EDIT: I called Morrowind DLC, but we're not supposed to do that. It's a chapter.

The Morrowind Upgrade is for if you already own the base game, that just adds Morrowind. So depending on what the Ebay seller is charging, it might be cheaper to find a really cheap copy of the base game, then get the upgrade. It'll do the same thing.

More worth it to get Morrowind upgrade or collectors edition upgrade?!

The collectors edition gives you a new skin for your warden bear which you can summon as the warden ultimate, an armored horse, a dwavern spider pet, a morag tong convertor so you can convert your armor to morag tong style and a few character emotes.

I think it's like double price for collectors edition? So probably not worth it unless you really want those things.

Also it's on sale on Xbox One, so just make sure the sale has started in your timezone.

And a warning, if you're in a household where several people play ESO, each person would have to buy the Morrowind upgrade separately. Only the account that buys it can play it.

Not sure with a disc though, I imagine everyone could use the same disc.

So right now, the Morrowind upgrade is $30 and collectors upgrade is $45 think it's worth it to give the $15 more? I have the base game and all the other dlc.

Unless you rrrreeeaaallllyyyy want to be able to convert your armour to Morag Tang style, the armoured horse mount or dwavern spider pet, or the different skin for the wardens bear, probably not?

Or if you kind of want 2 of those things and you're happy to pay $7.50 for each of them.

Or you want 3 and you're happy to pay $5 each.

I guess it comes down to how much you think you would use those things, and if there's $15 value in it for you.

If you're starting a new warden and you want to give them the armoured horse, dwarven spider pet, change the skin of their bear and convert all their armour to Morag Tang style, then it probably is worth $15.

I don't believe you can actually buy the game used. As there is a code you need to use for the game to works. So the answer is no don't buy from ebay. Buy it from steam ! It's definitely worth it and on sale on steam.

I would honestly wait for the price to drop to 20,00 or less, because that's what it's worth. Like @Tasear mentioned, there are steam sales, but Morrowind is still to pricey. I bought 3 games and one game collection (containing the base game, the upgraded version with 2 DLC's, and another version) for about €25,00. And they're not everyday casual games, I can already tell Ori and the Blind forest is a better purchase than the content Morrowind provides, like:
    • Warden class.
    • Stories of which people claim they have completed it in 3-7 days.
    • Battlegrounds where people are complaining about everything (leavers, bug, group finder, ...)
Also, many people had problems when buying the upgrade from steam.

I'd recommend waiting with buying Morrowind. The price will drop, there will be a sale another day, and by that time, some of the above things could be fixed by then. Right now you could pay €40 for something that's half broken, or you could wait, pay €20 to €30 for fixed (or better) BG's and maybe even more side quests and dungeons.

Is the grey bear a mount? Or just a skin for the one you summon?

It does look nifty, but yes, it's just a cosmetic change to the bear you'd have anyway.

Unless you want to main a Warden I suggest you wait for a price drop. I have it but I don't spend time in Morrowind island at all, because it's completely unnecessary. Morrowind "expansion" (DLC in disguise) is not worth $40 or $30. At $20 I'd say get it.

I'm waiting for the price drop and the game to get fixed as well.
I will not buy if both are not done.
No reason to put money in a game that works part time.
I'm console so our patch wont happen till mid to end of next month.
I'll be away from game till mid Aug anyway.
Not like I'm really missing anything... That works
