I have yet to buy/sell, nor have I asked anyone else to craft anything for me. That means never having purchased ingots, herbs, runes, or other mats off of guild traders or zone chat either. I'm not against it or anything, just felt nice to be able to do things... shall we say in organic manner? This was never a goal, just happened, and it stuck. So that got me thinking are there anyone else out there that only relies on himself/herself in farming/crafting?

P.S. Yes, I'm dirt poor because I don't profit off of other players :)

I also farm/craft all my stuff because that's actually an important (maybe the most important) part of the game for me. I don't enjoy the trading game and don't like to RP a merchant. I don't base my level on how much currency I can accumulate based on sales in ESO's difficult trading system.

I won't qualify for any trading guilds. So I don't make tons of gold, so I can't buy tons of things. I have a friend who's crafted cheapy stuff for me to use for trait research, as well as made me health pots and food in very small quantities. I've bought a number of laurels to use on my mostly merc armor on my main. I've also bought some things for research. But given the most gold I've ever had at once has been maybe 70K, I certainly haven't been a whale at the traders. Since I got my main in her crafted CP160 gear I haven't needed to make much anyway.

I'm short of 9 traits on everything. I have no idea where to find nirnhorned gear to research, or if I could afford it.

It's not so much that I want to be self reliant as that going around different guild traders hoping to stumble across the things I want at a reasonable price (and amount - don't particularly want to buy 200 of something if I only need 1) wastes so much time it's usually easier to just get it myself.

Depends on the guild but they usually require you to be making a certain amount of gold per day/week/month from trading (the lowest I remember seeing was 5k per week) and have very strict rules on activity - like they kick you if you're offline for 3 days.

You really shouldn't include jewelry in the 100%. Jewelry can't be crafted. It can be enchanted with glyphs, but not crafted.

I craft for myself and my guilds. I have one 9 trait crafter and a second that is almost completed the research. Both main crafters have all the craft skills maxed including alchemy and provisioning. All of my characters craft to some extent, if only to be able to farm the mats I need to craft for my guildies for free. Since I improve all the gear I make to green, I do need to buy the tempers if I don't get enough from refining.

Most of the stuff I need for PVE needs to be farmed. Will I offer money to a group member that gets what I want? You better believe it. I have paid upwards of 500k for certain items that are BOG.

If I need something that can be bought, I am a firm believer that you are always better off farming gold and purchasing what you want rather than farming the item yourself. We all have different strengths when it comes to making gold, so I prefer to play to that and then negotiate in the open market.

I'm in a "trading guild" that usually gets a trader. Total requirements; 0. There are voluntary raffles and auctions. No required amount of sales. I'm in a second guild that usually gets a trader, but isn't a "trading" guild. Zero requirements there, too.

If you have the nirncrux, I'll make nirnhoned items for research for free. The very first guild I joined is full of wonderful people who did the craglorn content to get the first nirnhoned items, and made the research items for free. I pass that on for players who want to craft.

The guildmaster can see the sales in the guildstore. No need to report anything.

What do you need to qualify for a trading guild? **noob question**

Depends on the guild but they usually require you to be making a certain amount of gold per day/week/month from trading (the lowest I remember seeing was 5k per week) and have very strict rules on activity - like they kick you if you're offline for 3 days.

How can they know how much I'm making per week though? Do you have to report it?

I recently asked to join a trading guild, but because I really need some help with learning everything... I dont know where to start so... for a different thread I guess. Don't want to get off track. Thank you.

I'm in a standard PvP/PvE guild but it does not focus on trading. I would like to be more immersed in the crafting/trading side of the game if possible and learn the ropes. I have quite a bit of research completed but still have some to go. If your trading guild needs members let me know what you need.

    Nope, but mostly self-reliant
    I craft everything myself.
On dropped parts i first check the prices, than i start farming for it and either get the items i need or enough money to buy them.
All of my loadouts consist of farmed set for hands, belt+jewels and crafted set for chest, legs, boots and weapons.

    Yes, absolutely100% so far!
I have 2 alts with 9 traits researched. 9 alts are still researching the 8th trait on all disciplines. My main have random trait researched on several disciplines so I need to fix that. Finally, I am still leveling my 2 new wardens before I can begin the research process on them.
