Are Potions Too Necessary for PVP?

I have to decide which potion I want to use on my character and stick to it, trying to switch potions on the PS4 controller in a hurry is a pain in the proverbial.

It would be nice to easily switch between an attacking potion and a restorative potion during a fight but in my fumble of fingers and thumbs I'd end up putting an oil pot down in the middle of a fight instead of drinking a potion.

I just wish there were better ways to switch between slotted items for console.

Yes I did. By insinuating they are a little too necessary, that's implying they should be nerfed. Hence, my question as an attempt for clarification.

If I thought they should be nerfed, then I would have just come out and said it. I think the strength of potions is worth discussion, but I'm not ready to make strong claims about potions until I get more perspective and information - hence the thread.

Pots are accessible to everyone why on any type of build. Everyone on even grounds with them why nerf them?

I won't dare go into PVP without potions anymore because they're too essential for survival against good players who use them. They are not too strong.

No more nerfs. Potions balance is far low on the list of what's wrong with Cyordiil.

I also think that potion managment/decision making is another layer of ESO pvp strategy that is quite interesting. I usually carry 4 different potions slotted, and it adds a level of forward thinking to fights: do I need this effect now? Or should I save my potion cooldown for later? Or maybe I need to keep my cooldown fresh for a detect pot?

And here I am, stockpiling my mats and gold and just using the trash pots from PvE land.

Sure, I might have a few less deaths if I used an immovability pot here or there, but jokes on you. That death just saved me 100g.

Those plants this one picked while doing their writs just helped them murder five of your friends.

Sure the other twenty eventually got this one to go home but that's just what happens when four fight a small group of bloops.

However as far as jokes go Telel much prefers the one about the DC group, and the EP group that walked into an AD keep.

All those 1vX clips, infinite duels, infinite sustain issues, all due to pots. I dont like them at all, especially the ones that give you immunity. They should be giving at most 2 resources imo
