Hey, if ZOS want to change the look of the Daggerfall Hero Costume, by all means go ahead. Whoever they allowed to design that costume has absolutely no talent.

But yes i do agree with them changing other things it is a horrid practice and totally uncalled for.

There's a difference between fixing a feature/improving quality and just being petty by restricting access/downgrading quality.

The Earthtear Cavern change is one such debacle I can think of that direct relates to this.

Didn't they say they were looking into fixing this though? Maybe i'm wrong.

I know they went and ruined two of my lantens in housing:

Lantern of Anguish - they stuck Fire in it, and the cranked the light radius to like 10,000%

Another lantern I bought - seriously just a common lantern, but it also had a swinging animation, no longer swings and still places at a pre-swing angle -_-

So what exactly has been changed? I see one example of a house but what other things are you talking about?

in Craglorn cavern, some walls were added, people wrote, that a big part of the cavern was blocked by those walls, so it got smaller

in Hundings pallatial hall, shells and seaweed was removed from the beach there, not a big deal, but still, in principle, it is not ok

another house (do not remember the name now) got windows removed somehow

it really sucks, that people buy stuff like this and then it gets changed, without any response nor comments by ZOS

At least, we should expect them to say if these changes are intended. Ideally, more info the better, but currently, we don't know anything.

Zos need to improve communication drastically.

If Zos keep retroactively changing crown purchased items, without consultation or notification, how are [we] expected to judge if something is worth buying?
We can't. Which is why I personally am going to be quite ambivalent with key purchases going forward.
And, for those that disagree, where would you draw the line?
Great question! You're a better critical thinker than most and I wish this question was asked more often. Personally, I am drawing the line at homes. You buy a home for a few reasons, but right there at or darn near the top of the list is a big one...appearance! For changes to be made to a home (post-purchase) that are merely aesthetic in nature with seemingly no evidence of their being warranted, is for me, disappointing.

It's been confirmed that Hundling's and Mathiisen Manor changes are bugs. However, that doesn't explain the caverns changes.

If Zos announced intended changes before making them, a lot of bug reports and complaints regarding unannounced changes could be avoided.

It would actually free up support time handling bug reps, making the whole system more efficient.

I think that if they are making changes to anything sold in the Crown Store whether it's seen as positive or negative that all those that already bought it should be entitled to a refund on it.

Anything less shows a lack of respect for paying customers.

exactly this!! or something valuable for fee as recompensation.

I think positive changes would be their own compensation, like that skooma bubbler idea, easy to argue why that's a good change.

But other things, like the earthtear caverns changes definitely needs something to re-balance what has been lost for those that bought.

I actually laugh now at threads tagging in Z0$ employees - they never reply now to anything on forums - Most likely not to look totally incompetent like previous replies.

Face the fact that Z0$ are unable to handle ESO. Either by making a working game or addressing the exploiting and cheating.

They are unable to even engage with its community without constantly looking incompetent and out of touch.

If Z0$ are incapable of these points, then how can anyone expect them to address lesser issues.

We need answers on why these changes are happening. Are they intended, bugs, oversights?

I'm seeing reports of more housing changes, how many things have been changed?
Yeah. They unintentionally moved rocks... by oversight. Totally accidentally edited model of the map and misclicked the new file into the update. Typo style. Jesus, that logic! :D

As usual this is most likely a QoL/aesthetics improvement and someone didn't really predict players will be utilizing that particular space that was meant to be rearranged. I'm not saying that was smart but "it's just rocks" after all...

The most ridiculous change was probably the Merchant servant. Lots of people after purchasing it found that the Armor Repair function was quickly removed. Followed by lots of forum rage.

Generally making housing objects outside of chairs intractable would be an huge benefit.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

So only the Cavern house was affected? Are there other examples?

    Hundling's Palatial Hall, possibly others.

what was affected? I have hundings and have not noticed any changes.

    Agreed. Seems the same.

This is just one of the components of an overarching problem IMO, they are changing too much for too little reason, often under the guise of rebalancing, when often if they just fixed the bugs (such as abilities that aren't working as stated) they wouldn't need to rebalance - or the bug fixes, when they do them properly, make another rebalance necessary when if they fixed the bugs first they would only need to rebalance once. I see the bug reports, and apparently most are ignored for years, even after multiple players complain. If they only would listen... But I digress.

The point is the game is not stable, changing too much, nerfing this and that, implementing bad ideas such as champion points (making PvP impossible for lowbie Lv50), then taking away the effect later, and making all the decisions just approximately the same, no awesome things, just slightly different ones, everything works approximately as good as everything else so where is the excitement of getting the equipment and making decisions/selecting skill points?

Too much change (exc. DLCs) - toward boring us.

It's amazing how people come to these forums and post comments without bothering to check the 'Dev Tracker' at the top first to see if anything has been responded to, in this case, it has been.

Depends if they have some sort of disclaimer in the ToS regarding the CS. Such as something along the lines of stating items bought from the CS are subject to change without prior notification to the purchasers. If there isn't such a disclaimer, then they shouldn't be altered in any way unless it's causing gameplay issues or issues that affect the use of the item itself.

@Prof_Bawbag A disclaimer is only legal protection, we have every right to deny them money in-future if they can't be upfront and communicative with us.

Some people have spent enough on this game to deserve their own dedicated support specialist. :p

@ADarklore Both those posts were made on the 26th, a full 6 days after this thread. Unless you're expecting precognition, I don't see what more you're expecting.

Also, note the OP requests that such changes be announce BEFORE being made, not commented on weeks after the fact.

Maybe the disconnect is crown versus gold. I may have to apologize, I purchased the Hunding Palatial Hall with gold.

    Did you buy via Crowns?
