It does nothing but color the.armor BUT binds it to your account so you can't then sell it
Oh no... Well I guess I wont be dying my EOG set then.. unless I decide that I want to keep it forever. I just normally don't like the standard look of armor. I've really embraced looking like I blend in and being an "Assassin" so this makes me sad.

Wearing set armor also binds it to your account so no harm in dying it if you're going to use it. Though you can't un-dye it you can re-dye it.

Hi Everyone-
Very noob question incoming................
Does dying your armor have any negative effect in the game? Does it make it less appealing to a potential buyer later? Can it be undone? I have a habit of wanting to dye my clothing black and black out my entire outfit at all times, no matter what I'm wearing. I am currently working on being able to craft my own set of EOG gear, and I am not sure if I'm going to continue the trend.
Thanks in advance!
Oh I didn't think about it already being bound. I am getting back into ESO and trying to make my way around crafting and such. I'm thinking I'm going to work really hard at being able to craft a ton of armor and selling it, so I guess if I dye my own set it won't be a huge deal. My character was already pretty well in crafting when I was first playing, but when I finished all of the DLC's and main questline, I struggled to find purpose in the game and got bored. I know there are costumes, but there's something about being in all black that feeds my soul.

No one would've ever bought gear because it's dyed cool. It doesn't add market value.
I think you kind of missed my point here. I meant that I thought dying it would hinder my ability to sell the item, not help.

I think I hit the point on the head. If dye-ing doesn't add market value. It probably won't take it away either.
Especially considering (if it didn't bind), that you can dye as many times as you like.
I find it funny that you're both a "noob that's coming back" and have "cleared all DLC and main story content". But know nothing about dyes.
Go do a trial or something.

I knew that it bound to me when I dyed it, so I don't see how this is a question of me not knowing about dyes as it is about me not knowing much about selling to other players.

Again, thank you for positively contributing to the thread. It is much appreciated.
