Best crafted sets for PVP stam DK tank? (non-vet campaign)

I am planning to create stam DK and focus on non-vet campaign

What do you think is the BIS crafted sets for a PVP stam DK?
Since there will be not enough slots to run 2 full crafted sets, it has to be 5/5 and 4/5 (since jewellry cannot be crafted)

So what do you think is the best combination for a stam DK tank?
I was thinking 5 Orgnum's Scales (5 body parts) & something else
I will run one hand & sword as my main bar & 2h as my secondary bar

Clever alchemist is nice for burst, and +health, +health, +weapon/spell damage. Put it on your buff bar.

In non-vet, you probably wanna get your sustain from sets instead of glphys or drink. I think that makes Willow's Path & Eternal Hunt attractive.

Then you need crafted tanking sets like Hist Bark or Armor master, or even Spectre's eye. But those are not so strong in PvP. Tanking in PvP is not strong unless you use dropped sets like Footman or Reactive. Meridia's set is interesting too.

Don't get me wrong, Orgnums is a good set when combined with other sources of inceased regen, like Permafrost, Green Pact, Beekeeper or Troll King, but in that case you are not gonna be a stamDK, just a PvP tank.

Tavas favor is absolutely the best stam DK crafted set.

    Here is your setup:
    Bloodspawn
    5x Tava
5x viper or bone pirate (jewelry and two med body pieces)

    5heavy pieces

    @Trashkan , it's the nonvet campaign he's asking about.

OP, until recently I've been very active on Kyne (formerly BwB) PC/NA and have really refined my stamDK build. You can tank and do insane amounts of damage at the same time - although, you can also make incredibly tanky things. If you want to kill things AND be ludicrously tanky run S&B (DPS and tank bar) and 2h (buff bar + gap closer/execute) wearing 5x Tava's Blessing and 4x Morkuldin. Then use 3x Agility or Spriggan's jewelry. I generally run Redguard for my race and always thief mundus with dubious throne for food. Bars are as follows:

    S&B:
-Ransack/Pierce Armor (depends on group vs. solo)
    -Reverberating Bash
    -Venomous Claw
    -Igneous Shield
    -Vigor
U: Take Flight (until you get S&B ult)

    2h (use an axe):
    -Reverse Slice
    -Crit Rush
    -Volatile Armor/Hardened Armor
    -Rally
    -Shuffle
U: Take Flight (or whatever else you might want, but Take Flight here definitely once you get S&B ult)

Keep shuffle up 100% of the time, you'll get your sustain from your ultimate generation. Always prebuff vigor + rally with igneous shield. Reverb bash on cooldown. Do a fully heavy if you can before your take flight for a +10% to the take flight damage.

@Adenoma I love your builds! There's an old post you made on non-vet Nightblades that I still refer to.

@Chelister re "full tank mode". Tava's Favor, referenced above, is nice for the synergy with Shuffle, ultimate generation, and 2 piece health, 3 piece stam regen, 4 piece magicka regen. I try to get at least 1 regen per stat from armor, even more for my main stat, so I can save my jewelry for damage glyphs.

Considering running the Orzaga gold food that gives regen to all 3 stats plus health.

Something to try could be 5 medium , 2 heavy (chest and legs or helm), slotting Shuffle and a defending bow or 2 handed weapon and Armor Master. You'd get + 5% max health on that bar (can balance it out with sword and shield on defense bar, shield infused with health glyph). Also when you cast Shuffle, +4500 physical and spell resistance. Including the defending trait that's +10k defenses on the back bar.

You probably want to stay with 7 heavy anyway for wrath and the heals. But I've been thinking of a more mobile, "tanky" DK with armor master on back bar and Eternal Hunt or something else on the front.

Another idea - if you really wanna build a PVP tank and have 5-10 people whacking on you. The "Death's Wind" 5 piece knockdown bonus tends to bug out. Players might not be able to stand back up. You'd need a lot of health though to trigger it safely - only kicks in at 35% health.

Torugs pact with Infused weapons and Oblivion damage enchant. Strong set up with nice damage with the enchant and you can make it in any weight and trait you want armor wise. Then combine it with Knight Slayer and Tremorscale and there you go. Now people will hate whisper you with this set up and call it cheese and or cancer but its not a bad set up. Or of course if you want to be more tanky and less offensive swap Knight slayer for a tanky non crafted set. This is not what I run in PvP cause I don't use a crafted set but since you specifically asked for crafted this is my recommendation.

I would love to see how a DK tank build does using the following sets:
    - Bloodspawn
    - Tava's
    - Witchman's

The trick to this build is gathering ultimate as quick as you can, so you can get to proc witchman's on top of battleroar for a massive resource return. In combination with 1hs ult this would be tanky as hell.

Sounds good. Is this 5 heavy, 1M, 1L set up?

No point in going 5/1/1 because you don't get undaunted bonuses. I tend to run 5 heavy, 2 medium or all heavy. After Morrowind I would run 5/2, but I haven't gotten to test extensively.
