the bears plague

i'm enjoying very much to play with my new warden character, but... every time i enter in a big city or in some house, filled with bears in every corner, it feels weird and funny but also, somehow, disappointing :) ...i know, i know... this is not a problem to the gameplay, but it's a new weirdo Tamriel even for the weirdness standards of Nirn :D

well... it might be solved if we could pick a different animal to combat with, the cities would start to look more like zoos, but at least the bears plague would be solved.
i wouldn't mind to get a small wild cat to be more discreet than the huge bear :P

anyone else feels the same?

I never use Idiot Bear, because it seldom turns up to actually fight anything, being so often stuck on a bit of scenery or just standing there watching. :D

Funny, this is how I used to feel about seeing SORC pets everywhere. It was like, "isn't Daedra supposed to be our enemy, and yet everyone has one as a pet" go figure.

Omg don't get me started with dolmens. All you see are bears. It's an ocean of bears everywhere with the occasional head of a high elf sticking out. The dolems become so laggy due to the hundreds of bears everywhere. It's too much IMO. I hate to sound like a whinner (cuz there's so many in this game) it's just that they make the game even MORE laggy than it already is.

yes... i thought about that too, a long time ago. but somehow, maybe i got lucky, but i never saw such a plague so intrusive as the bears plague. maybe it's because the bears are bigger or because they usually last longer activated... probably both :)

I hve been playing warden since early release and i ditched the bear after the first two days. Its just not reliable and the burst from dawnbreaker is just better, at least for pvp.

Dont worry i feel like everyone is going to soon realize the bear is more of a gimmick then anything else.

Most sorcs I know keep their pets up indefinitely, and the bear isn't much bigger than the Clannfear. In actuality, you probably notice them less because a) you're used to them, and b) sorc pet builds aren't as common as they were early on.

Right now, Wardens are at a very high ratio, because everyone's leveling one... and one of the most attractive aspects (at least, the one touted in the promos) was the bear... which the Warden meta already seems to be steering away from.

So give it a month. Wardens will be less common as players level them up and then go back to their usualy playstyles, and the bear build in particular is likely to be used mostly by roleplayers and people who just think it's cool. You'll also likely notice them less, just as you don't really notice the sorc pets now.

Peregrine Huntress, bosmer hunter: "Who is forcing me to stay inside, and where can I find them?"
Lorenyawe, altmer mechanist: "And why would I want to go outside in the first place? Too much to be done in the workshop."

I don't mind our new bear overlords. But I do find it troubling that they tend to block npcs or items on the ground when they stand over them. It makes questing abit difficult when there are like 2+ wardens around that area your questing in.

Though it would be neat if the wardens could summon something other than a bear. That I have to agree with.

This is a beary, big problem.

All bear puns aside, I do agree with the idea that we should have different animals to choose from. I saw this one dunmer npc summon a Kwama Worker as his "bear pet", so if he can do it, why can't we?

I'm playing a warden myself but I don't use that damn bear. Not just because it's near to useless (when it finally reaches the enemy I usually already killed them). But also because they are always in the way. Yesterday I tried to talk to the banker lady in the Alik'r but couldn't because a bear was standing inside of her. All I could see was Feral Guardian and there would be no option to interact with that lady until the warden and their pet left. Damn annoying.

This was expected and not at all surprising. Once people learned you could have a permanently summoned pet ultimate with the Warden, everyone knew the game would be FULL of them come launch. Just have to wait it out for the "ooh and ahh" of the new class to wear out, not to mention all the new players that picked this game up just for Morrowind to eventually get bored and quit. Then it'll be business as usual.

Funnily enough, I think I'm the only Warden in ESO that's using Sleet Storm for my Ultimate, instead of the Bear.

Nope. Didn't care for the bear in closed beta, using northern storm and healing thicket on live.
