“Camera Shake Off” Option

I posed a question about camera shaking to the ESO Live show several months back. I requested that there be an option to turn off the camera shake for folks like me for whom it begins to cause nausea and lightheadedness, especially when casting something like Healing Springs repeatedly for a couple hours. I think it was Gina who said that something was coming soon to address that, but I’ve seen nothing so far. I had to stop healing on my Templar because it was making me too sick to play. Because of that, I lost interest in the game in large part. I log in for the holiday events, but that’s about it. No more trials nor dungeon healing for me, which is what I really liked. Would anyone like to address whether there is a fix for this and what is the ETA?

No response from the developers then? Really?

I guess I’ll just keep playing WoW and Neverwinter while I wait.

I get the health concerns but the whole point is to get you off sync and a little confused.....if they offer it, why even have the feature. Just remove it all together if there's gonna be an option to turn it off

Kinda like the spiders back in ZG in WoW. You would get the "drunk" effect when bitten. You could just turn it off though and the screen wouldn't change. You still moved funny, but you didn't see just blurs.

You have the ability to turn off the camera wobble while walking and running in first person view, and can set whether the FOV is changed when sprinting. It's an immersion thing.

Not really...WoW is a click and the character interacts with your target. Very little impacts so that option made sense.
Here, everything is real time and facing is how you target so it's technically asking to remove features from combat

Correct, but that's because of 3rd person being built in which doesn't contain the same effects as first person.

Essentially, it's a logical request but my opinion is all or nothing as impacts are game changing.

hi @nathan_bri , sry to hear about your templar :( . And I know how you must feel, I get the same symptoms with camera shaking in any game that uses it : its not just a little "intended" ingame confusion or disorientation, but horrible physical nausea, headache and wierd symptoms like my head starts to feel hot, and I get very very irritated/angry and unable to focus if it continues :s ...
Some people get migraine or may even trigger epileptic fits when a lot of flashing lights and colour happen on screen; strangely I never got trouble with any amount of those those in any game, including fast paced arpgs- but even a little screen shake "earthquake like" effect really does me in.
The relatively short amount of camera shake on the end part of Eso Morrowind main quest was enough to make me sick and rush through that part without my headphones and hardly looking at the screen, was "please, noooo, " when that it started and then went "phew, hard part over whatever comes next" when I got to the next area on that quest.

@ZOS_GinaBruno very happy to hear this has been discussed to be on the works, hope it will come soon.

It’s not camera wobble in first person. Fortunately, there is a slider which controls that and I have mine set very low.

As I originally wrote, this is about casting Healing Springs and having the entire world shake violently up and down. It’s similar to when a Sorcerer does a Streak by you in town. If it were only having to deal with the occasional Sorc, that would be one thing. When I am the one causing it because I *have* to heal and my best AoE heal is Healing Springs, which is cast repeatedly, the violent shaking gets old quickly.

I can play other things until they fix this. If they do, maybe ESO will grab my interest again. For now, meh.

I’ve gotten back into Neverwinter a bit and was delighted to discover there is a toggle for camera shake. Since that game makes heavy use of it, it was nice to shut it off.

They evidently added a slider to the Camera settings which allow you to choose how much camera shake you want. I am so glad this was added, but I never saw it in any patch notes.

Thanks for the update! I don't templar so I can't comment on that, but streaking sorcs can make me motion sick. Yay for being able to turn that off!

I actually would like an option for more camera shake, so I would like to propose a slider to let us change the camera shake intensity from 0% to 200%.

EDIT: didn't notice that this was a bumped thread, and also didn't realize that they've added in the option to disable camera shake in options. That's awesome though.

Now to let us turn off lightning for folks like me that it makes dizzy Nausea because when otvra8ns lightning constantly flashes real bright like a strobe light. I'm stuck in areas that don't rain like deserto and snow

Oddly, that doesn't bother me in ESO but it made LoTRO unplayable for me. They eventually toned it down in that game but I can totally relate. Within minutes it was either log, go somewhere there wasn't lightning or buy a new kybd., desk etc.
