DOT crafted armor set. Necro thread. Stop replying mindlesly.

Out of all the crafted armor sets I bet that there must be at least one that nobody uses. Could change such a set to:
2 items Max Health
3 items Stam Regen
4 items Weapon Dmg
5 items increase DOT dmg by 60%(or higher ; D )

The reason for asking such a set is because I want to see some new builds in PvP. Boosted DOT tactical play would counter many annoying opponents we see going 1vX like Death himself on the battlefield.
Such a set would also help stam builds in PvE by boosting the dps of those that keep their Dots up. Might also improve stam builds performance on Trials and other late content. God knows they could use some help because of regeneration problems.

Ideally magika builds should not benefit from this new armor. But if @Zos finds it balancing to include them, so be it.

An extra 60% damage? Oh yeah that seems totally reasonable...

You wouldn't have a full set like hundings or something else you currenlty use. You would have to bet on your dots only.

But don't get stucked on numbers. Discuss the concept.

"DoTs only". DoTs are the main resource of damage, hello there :) Stop underestimate them, for god's sake, stop.

DoTs are already hugely powerful. Check magdk. 60%+? LOL no. No need to empower DoTs - they are hella strong as they are.

It´s actually bugged :P, but only when using 2 axes (bleed from each axe can override the other causing them to "negate" eachother. So in worst case the 2 bleeds can proc and do 0 dmg, theoreticly speaking ofc)

Bleed axe is powerful when the enemy doesn't hit you anymore, and pretty weak the rest of the time due to it overwriting mechanism.

BTW, dots are already everywhere. There are classic dot (poison injection, fire claw, dawnbreaker…), aoe user-centered dot (hurricane, eye of the storm…), aoe grounded dot (volley, elemental wall…), channeled dot (rapid strike, templar sweeps, radiant destruction…). In pve, they do most of the dps, in pvp they are mostly either really powerful (radiant destruction, eye of the storm...) or too weak, mostly due to purge and overheal. Buffing them all is not a good idea.
A buff to dots apposed directly on enemies ("classic" one) and non channeled in pvp may be interesting, but buffing the whole dot world is as good as nerfing crits for every sets including those who were already underperforming.

or how about Increases Spell/Weapon Damage on DoT skills by 386... like half a dozen other niche sets?

% increases are part of what got us in this mess in the first place.

A set that encourages a DOT build isn't a bad concept or anything. It's just that in this particular point in time, people really don't need even more encouragement to use DOT builds in the first place.

He got what he wanted, but it's not a set. It's dots in general buffed to the max. :D

Edit: Well, single target dots to be fair.

Out of all the crafted armor sets I bet that there must be at least one that nobody uses.

As it stands, at least a third of the craftable sets are complete garbage that no serious player would even consider using.
Those "garbage sets" are only useful for casuals and/or roleplayers.

Also does anyone else find it curious that most of the 8- and 9-trait craftable sets are quite underperforming, especially when compared to other craftable sets which only require 6 or less traits to craft?

IMO, craftable sets could use some serious overhaul in general, with the unpopular ones getting either buffed to make them viable alternatives, or reworked entirely to grant a different combination of bonuses.

Edit: an interesting idea would be to introduce a new set which functions analogously to the Leki's Focus set, but for DoTs instead:
"5 items: Reduces your damage taken from area of effect damage-over-time abilities by 25%, but the damage and healing of your own area of effect damage-over-time abilities is also reduced by 25%."

Funny enough. I never used deadly strikes.
I must say most of my suggestions find their way in the game 2 years later.

    DOT is not Damage Type.

All DOTs have a specific damage type that they do. Either Elemental (Shock, Fire, Ice), Magic, Disease, Bleed, and Physical.

Anything boosting those type of damage the DoT is doing is the same.

The best sets out there like Deadly which is boosting all the Physical, Disease, Bleed has 14% bonus.
Something like 60% you ask, would make it 4 times more powerful set.

There are no reason and is sheer insanity asking for something like that.

Except if all the above are too "technical" to you, which means you are a new player without having a clue how the game works.

LOL, Yes, when you put extreme numbers into a suggested set that is what we will logically focus on instead of the concept.

Of course I am not sure what OP has with magicka DKs since they say they do not want them (magicka classes) to benefit form a similar set. I am surprised as a stamina DK should be able to handle them fine.
