PVP IS UNPLAYABLE

PvP feels, to me, like it is a worse state than it has EVER been.

Usually, even though I am just a half-decent player, I can enjoy PvP no matter what. But lately... man, has it been frustrating.

• First of all, dueling Dragon Knights is the least inspiring activity I have had the displeasure of experiencing lately. They pop leap for 8k and the stun, I spam stun-breaker, stun is never broken?, they whip me for 5k each whip.
  
• Wardens that use the spammable dive for 5k+ damage each.
  
• Every time I get even remotely close to the action: Intense lag. 60fps+ to 9fps in the blink of an eye.
• And if that isn't bad enough, I get hit with loading screens constantly.

The PvP is so damn broken in this game.

Yup exactly my issue, Rich talked about a silver bullet like what last year and still there is no silver bullet. It's pathetic that the issue has been around for so long like honestly I'd be embarrassed if my work was still incomplete for years to come knowing that people actually play it. Now don't get me wrong the PvP designer Brian wheeler, I like the guy a lot; When I heard him talk it actually looked like he gave a damn about Cyrodiil unlike the other developers (Sorry but Imma call it how I see it).

Lag will not be fixed never has been fixed.... They are unwilling to make the changes to fix it .. Because it would deeply affect PVE...

Yes they forced all CP'ers on one campaign knowing that it was already the larger of the two PVP meta's ... Still scratching my head on this one.... Haderous would sometimes pop lock on red on the weekends now they are all crowed on the 1 campaign.

Non-CP campaigns are significantly better perfomance-wise. I rarely get lag even at Chalman zerg fest. Some other perfomance issues are still there: crit rushing into loading screen, very long loading screens after proting. They are not that common though.

I play non cp. Campaigns vary in amount of action so try to check them out before you home.

Major differences in my experience:
A no lag
B sustain is terribad
C less players soloing (often need group support to run viable builds due to above)

The warden thing is a weapon swap desynch. It was buggin like that on pts too, they don't go off for a bit, then all of them go off at once and they instagib you. When used correctly they aren't really that powerful and you can't actually spam them to the same effect.

Yup. The netcode for this game was written by a dang Khajiit, just fumbling around on a keyboard with those big floppy paws...

Oh my god 5k whipe, I've been hitting for 7-9k for months.

You're just negative, take a small break and come back in few hours, it happens to everyone to feel like everything is wrong one day.

CP campaign is playable while no CP is a proc fest with people running 50k health tanks with 3 proc sets and dealing more damage than a nb gank.

If you are not on PC NA I heard all the no CP are dead, I can confirm for PS4 EU and PC EU but I don't know about the rest.

I've played in 3 of the campaigns since the update and don't recall any lag at all. I get one shot in cp and no cp campaigns but that is because I am too lazy to make PvP gear. I am wearing all divine traits.

Unfun or hard to do is not the same as unplayable. My main issue is that the loading screens get longer each minute I'm in Cyro so I have to restart the game once or twice per session to reset their length. Frustrating and a pain but not "unplayable".

Closest I've had to unplayable was a while when the lag made abilities and siege and doors unusable for long periods while getting stuck on unfinished ground textures plus the 10+ minute loading screens all at once. Haven't been through that in a good while but yes many fun-draining issues remain for Cyro.

Yup Non CP is just gear vs gear. All the skill you need to do good in their. Is the skills to get good RNG rolls on your traits because there are no CPs, to help you mitigate the damage burst from proc sets. Proc Sets are just overpoweredly broken in Non CP nothing else to add.

The OP is talking about PVP, not PVE. Neither of those skills hit that hard against others or guards, except for once in a blue moon type of scenario.

last couple of days i have been playing in Vivec. i tend to solo pvp most of the time and stay away from zergs... most of the time the performance is good.

The hardest I've seen a Leap hit for is 16k in a BG, and that was a rare occassion that I have yet to witness again. As for the whip, I see around 3k-5k, for the most part. If you're hitting 7-9k with whip in PvP, you have to link me your build and I will start leveling a DK right now, haha.

OP - Instead of raging on the forums about a bad experience, how about you try and ask for help.

Tell me what your build is? 5k whip dmg? you may need more spell resistance. are you wearing heavy light medium? how many pieces of each?

are you stam or magicka?

Like, there is a lot of things we can explore and instead of polar spectrum generalizing 50% of the game due to improper exposure to said content, embrace it and learn how to master it.

Hmmm, I had a time when I was actually trying to ... embrace and master ... less then 10 FPS and 999 latency during PVP.
Honestly, if you have a receipe on how to do that, please pass it over.

Currently I am at something between 13-22 FPS and 150-300 latency... most of the time. Playable but nothing I feel i could ever full-heartedly "embrace".

13-30 fps in cyrodiil is typical. I run a GTX 970 FTW Edition and i get 30 fps just standing still at Fort Ash. seriously.

ping jumps around but as long as its not red you should be fine.

the recipe for embracing pvp is building for it and experiencing it. I come from a heavy First PErson Shooter background (pre CoD) and dying in pvp is a way of life. you should expect to die over and over and over. like first lesson: move past your own mortality. find a group to play with. cyrodiil was never designed for solo play in mind. except for maybe the pve quests. build for impen, use pvp specifc skill morphs etc. there is so much you can do to make the experience better

Embrace it and try to master it? Are you aware of the builds that are currently going around?
Besides, I cannot ever attempt to counter every build in the game.

Rough description of build:

FYI: My main is an orc stam sorc, with 5 shacklebreaker (2 heavy, 3 medium, 1 Reinforced, 4 Impen), 5 bone pirate (Medium Impen belt and gloves, and jewelery all robust / weapon damage), Sharpened 2h, Defending Bow. All the items have been improved to yellow quality, apart from the bow. Of course, Dubious Camoran Throne up at all times.

Skills are:
2h: Stampede, Hurricane, Dizzying Swing, Executioner, Rally and Berserker Rage 2h ultimate morph.
Bow: Shuffle, Ball of Lightning, Poison Injection, Resolving Vigor, Dark Deal and Ballista bow ultimate morph.

Lol, ty. I play PVP since beta... not that I have your background (I tried doom bc i had access to a quite-every-day-LAN-party at campus, but I tend to get sick from 1rst person visuals ... and ususally stuck in some obscure places... oh well, and since I have no sense of direction i tended to move in the wrong one, too), or think I am a skilled player, but I do know my ways in cyro the do's-and-don'ts, in-'n-outs; left-'n-rights ... yeah well i guess you know what I mean.

Yet, i haven't seen 30 FPS in month now. Before 3.06 I was at 18-25 ... after I am at 13-22, with ocasional drops to 1-2 ... . Its getting frustrating if you can't play as you want, but have to build for "safe-mode" and "forgiving -playstyle" to be able to play at all. That#s all i am saying, and I guess thats all OP is saying, too.
