Been using ovl on a destro sorc build, working quite well.

I've always slotted overload - but generally only used it as a buff bar and for travelling (rapids/defensive rune)..

Tried it today as an actual combat bar with my current build after seeing this. Worked quite well!

Q. What CP's affect overload? There's now one for light/heavy attacks, one for elemental damage, one for direct damage.... Which one(s)?

That was my guess when I saw the 'lower than usual' max mag and big overload hits.

That was my guess when I saw the 'lower than usual' max mag and big overload hits.

Yeah there was a reason I was asking though.
Before MW went live I tried running a heavy attack build (via lightning staff w/ oblivion) running 5pc Elegance and 5pc Netchs. Relied on overload so I didn't have to stack sustain as much, and the heavy ticks from lightning heavy were "Respectable."
I didn't have a pocket healer though so my pvp experience was a little different. I was using Rune Cage to trap my target into eating Overload balls

I am indeed wearing Elegance. It is BiS for maximum overload damage.

Mostly i just tank everything while QAM waits for the opportunity to overload something. Hes quick! Usually only takes one or two overloads too

I love the DW build and playstyle, it's just getting worse this patch. Eclipse, impregnable, permablock, and reflect build are pretty much most of Cyrodiil this patch.

I'm not using amberplasm. I'm running all damage, no sustain with power overload for overkill amounts of damage. Even with 5k crit resist and heavy armor I can still 3 - 4 shot someone in under 2 seconds.

Couldn't agree more. It just keeps getting harder and harder to justify.. I was all for dumping it this patch until I realised using a staff kept sending my matriarch off to die..... Them guards tho... Takes fekkin ages to solo a resource when your only source of damage is a 3-sec curse and an execute...

They have a minimum range on eclipse. If you can find a spot that is as far as possible giving you just on the range to attack them, you will be out of their eclipse range. I found it incredibly easy to solo lvl 5 rss by just patiently edging myself in range of just 2 of the flag guards at a time and frag-weaving into overloads one-by-one.

Immov pots are also nice when you want to nuke one or two at a time.

Netch's touch could most definitely work if you can afford sharpened Elegant swords. The tool-tip damage would be a bit higher then both Martial Knowledge proc, and Julianos raw spell-damage on paper.

It's been a long time since that was BiS for a Mag sorc. 2+ years ago it was the bomb though for those of us who weren't negate bots!

So how do you make sure the 10% damage proc on this lands on a frag hit instead of a resto heavy?

Also, why power overload over energy?
