Question for people who ordered the Physical CE from Amazon

I'm pretty bummed right now. I was looking at my account and I noticed that Thursday was the estimated delivery. I was kinda confused and decided to investigate. I looked some more and saw the nearest date for delivery is now Wednesday.

I spoke to an Amazon rep and they said if I didn't click "arrive on release date" I don't get it on the date it comes out. I don't remember seeing anything like this.. is anyone else coming across this? The Amazon rep said it goes by address so only certain people can get it on the release date?

I don't recall seeing that option either but it was the first and only time I've preordered on Amazon so I don't really remember.

I have pre-ordered several games from Amazon. All have arrived on Release Day as expected. My CE of Morrowind is slated to arrive on Tuesday according to their site.

Now, if you live out in the boonies where FedEx or UPS does not regularly offer 2 Day Service to Residences, that may be the reason for the delay. Or if you live in another country besides the USA, shipping times may be extended, but your other orders from them would give you an idea if that was the norm or not.

I just looked at Far Cry 5 collector edition and they have this underneath it


"Want to receive this the day it comes out? Select FREE Two-Day Shipping at checkout."

I don't see it on any of eso's stuff. I'm really wondering if I messed up or something didn't work properly

Also, I noticed some weirdness with the Amazon Phone App. I have a text that I can't see from the app that says it shipped on the 6th, but when I look at the order on the phone app I can't even see the order exists.

So, have you tried looking at the Website to see what it says? I have found that not all shipment information is updated until it actually gets put on a truck with UPS.

I've done many preorders w Amazon. When an item has a specific release date, the carriers have to support that for your specific address because they have to agree to drop it exactly on the right day. (Don't ask why this couldn't drop a day early just to make things easier...it's not like it can play until the servers update for it).

There were so many preorders I notice amazon ran out completely. That means they'll prioritize one day and prime shipping, then secondarily regular shipping preorders. You might have gotten bumped for one day shipping customers. They won't tell you that...but if you're in like Los Angeles and the one day orders suck up all the California inventory, their system would move your item to a warehouse in, say, Ohio even if it slows yours down by a day...so that they can deliver the one day items on time. Sorry.

Your photo makes it appear it's going to come Wednesday...but check the tracking. Sometimes that is more accurate.

Ah, that makes sense. Kinda crappy but makes sense. It won't be the end of the world but really makes me not want to pre order physical editions ever again. Thank you for your answer @davey1107.

Mine is scheduled for delivery tomorrow, Tuesday. No idea who AMZL US is except it's supposed to be
an Amazon delivery service.

I believe you have to be a Prime member to be able to select release day shipping. It sucks, I know but that's how it goes. At least ZOS gave you the option to get early access if you could prove your purchase. I just got mine this afternoon, slightly let down by the statue, but it is still cool, just very plastic

I cancelled my order and just got digital. I didn't have early access as I am on console.

I just saw the disc PS4 version of Morrowind on Amazon listing for $58. Are you people freaking crazy?! You all paying for that? Not this one. Heck, this ship is already sinking with the recent patch/nerfing, whatever, of stams. I'll be the black sheep.. Morrowind.. forget about it (I do have a more adult lingo and phrase, but I'll keep it clean here.) Even if for the 40 bucks, after what they did to stam toons; DK and StamPlar and such.. F that!
