Digital Collectors Edition is a ripoff

I went to buy the upgrade today finally and was deciding between the packs- looked into it:
Okay Morrowind upgrade vs Digital collectors edition- for 30 bucks AUD you get:

ARMORED WAR HORSE
DWARVEN SPIDER PET
MORAG TONG CONVERTER
GREY WAR BEAR
CHARACTER EMOTES

so 30 bucks for a mount, a pet, a motif , a skin and a few emotes. Come on ZOS- try harder- give us some more. its a fake world with fake things- it dosent cost you anything to give several --
costumes- perhaps 5 - at least.
a motif book that will allow us to craft in that style.
perhaps even a set of armour - save people from farming- why not - from a business point of view it makes sense- maybe even
a destro/resto staff in infused would be fair.
Some colours that aren't accessible.
some more scrolls for xp and poitions- free crown crates.
all we're looking for is value. I've always supported ZOS in terms of financial support, from subscitptions even when i already had all the DLC's. i thought- i spent this much time on this game- why not give them the money- its not much- to support them to make a better product. but this is the kind of crap that turns customers- when you take advantage instead of being generous. we all know the feelig- and enjoy the service when we get a product or go into a restaurant and the service goes the extra mile- but this is plain lazy and greedy.

Honestly say at least it's much better compared with crown crates.

Yes I m sure people will disagree- but as a customer i think its fair for me to voice my feedback here and that they hopefully see it. I enjoy and love this game but the financial decisions it has made int he past 6 months, from crown crates to paying for one time dyes- to paying this much for a DLC - and this much more for a collectors edition is really turning me off. Im a working adult with disposable income- as i said- I'm happy to pay for a product i believe in . I regularly support crowdfunding initiatives if i believe in it. ZOS you need to look after us a little bit better guys. and this is the bottom line.

They will sell what people will buy. And plenty buy at the prices they charge. That's their bottom line.

Yeah I held off on getting it, pretty glad I did didn't realize they added the Morag Tong motif in game so that tool is kind of useless

my bf asked me the other day if the collector edition was worth the EUR 30,- extra,...
i honestly told him in hindsight i wouldn't have bought the collectors edition, ...
therefor he bought the normal upgrade !

way to go ZoS, another disappointment on my growing list of ESO disappointments.

Wouldn't these two points result in a P2W debate?

Mounts are usually in excess of 2500 crowns ie. $25 (more for unique limited time ones), so the CE items are not too bad (compared to buying each item separately if they can be bought).

That 1k package seemed like a better deal than the CE though

The content of the collectors edition was advertised from the day morrowind was announced. If you didn't think it was worth it why spend the money.

What did you expect? The taj mahal? The hanging gardens of Babylon? Huge herds of wildebeest frolicking majestically across the plains?.......

If you look at what the prices are on the crown store and the price you are being charged for these cosmetic items...seems to me like it's not a rip off at all.

Now we can debate whether or not the prices on the crown store are out of whack but that's not relevant.

Yeah I went with the cheaper one. That extra 20-30$ whatever one just didn't seem worth it to me. There wasnt enough extras to justify the price. Like the morag tong converter? I Would never even use that anyway since you can't morph looted sets.

Perhaps. You can look at it from another direction, too. It might make it easier for you to decide to buy the cheaper upgrade that just comes with the Discovery Pack.

The ESO website clearly listed what came with the package and the prices of the various packages were also clearly listed yet people complain because they bought a more premium package.

I would suggest that reading the details more thoroughly next time to make sure one understands what they are getting for the extra cash spent to avoid such calamities since Zos clearly communicated on this.

The thing is, the OP didn't buy it, he clearly says, "I went to buy the upgrade today finally and was deciding between the packs- looked into it"... so he is complaining about something he didn't buy in the first place just because he is unhappy that he cannot get even more for the Collector's upgrade. I swear, people will complain just to complain and no matter what will always find something to complain about.

You mean the one with the white mane horse? But the CE gives you the Imperial horse decked in dwemer horse armour (which is not DLC horse armour either LOL).

Not enough though, if all the pre release price drops are anything to go by. Can only assume the uptake hasn't been particularly impressive. Of course, this forum is littered with people who will berate others for not accepting any old rubbish that's thrown their way for any price thrown our way, but luckily they seem to be in the minority when it comes to selling this junk on the open market.

Considering I bought the Physical Collector's Edition off Amazon MONTHS ago during a 'Prime' discount sale for $30, I wouldn't buy into price drops... it's pretty typical marketing strategy.

A prime discount sale is something completely different. Amazon probably took the hit for that to make their own product look more enticing. Those sort of deals aren't just limited to their gaming section, but those deals are limited to Amazon themselves. When you have price drops all across the board, on all platforms, from numerous retailers that tells a completely different story.

So what is it telling me? Because you make statements without any PROOF of anything. Clearly you don't understand marketing and are making assumptions based upon what you WANT to believe ala "Fake news". Marketing strategy would be to post a price months in advance, then at the time of launch, lower the price to attract more sales and generate more buzz. "Hey, ESO: Morrowind is launching and they lowered the price".

Now, for your theory to work, they would keep the price the same, and then drop the price after a couple of weeks due to poor launch sales.
