    This just really sucks.

It's the trifecta of server maintenance - during prime time, always longer than expected, and on a holiday.
US players generally don't have to put up with that.

They delayed maintenance by a day last week, which nicely missed the UK bank holiday, why not show similar consideration to those in other parts of Europe and do it on a different day this week instead?

Maintenance cant be planned so it doesn't interfere with anyone's plans. There is always going to be someone who has time to game but cant because of maintenance. It is impossible for Zenimax to have the maintenance so it doesn't bother anyone. Just have some patience. Maintenance is done to improve the game and keep it running, its for everyone's best. So please stop the complaining. We will be able to game when its finished, its that simple. Whining wont make it go faster.

It´s an inconvenience that it happened to take place today on a holiday for some players, but there's nothing to do about it now. And Zenimax cant take that into account and plan maintenance when it suits us, it will never suit us since we want to play ESO. Therefor we have to give up 1-2h, for the improvement of the game.

Except they do usually avoid doing maintenance on a major holiday in Europe (I know people may be under the impression that Europe is small, but it actually has way bigger population than the US), so I can't help thinking that this is some sort of oversight - which will hopefully not occur in future.

Welcome, i don't work on Monday, and guess what? Every Mondays are on maintenance.

You can tell me to don't be addict or to go outside, but it's what i do everyday, except on Monday.

And yes, no matter the day or the hour, someone will be concerned, but come on, if they do this at night less people will be disappointed.

Like in WoW, it often happened i was still playing at 3:00 am but it's less annoying than in the middle of the day for hours...

Not really; probably the ZOS employees had the day off, like the rest of us....so why would they be at work on a holiday?! It nopt a double-standard - it's more a matter of where you're physically located versus where the people develop the game are physically located.

Maintenance is going to impact someone, even if they made separate allowances for <insert time zone here>. Best this is find something else to do during maintenance.

Perhaps because most of their staff is in the US and they would have to pay and force employees to work on a holiday. I would not want maintenance done when you are short staffed.

Like it or not, ZOS has made the decision to do NA and EU maintenance at same time. This change did allow not having to download the game twice to play in both servers and probably saved ZOS some money.

Have a look at June 5th and tell me, _why_ it is not possible to plan for a holiday in that many countries. That should actually be common practice. I agree, you can't take into account every holiday in every country, you will get nothing done then, but in this case?

And you are right: Whining won't make it faster, but staying quiet will not show them that their work needs improvement.

Is it not 6:30 EST in the USA? How is that a prime time to play? It is a prime time for Europeans to be playing on a holiday... Or is the maintenance time now different for US servers? I suppose that is to say that Xbox and PS have different maintenance times, but still. I would recommend reading a book, or planting a tree

My point was not about that one particular holiday, they do generally move maintenance to a Tuesday where we have a holiday in the UK (and we have a lot more of them than in the US). First 6 months of the game's release they did maintenance on a UK holiday and apologised and they haven't done it again since (today is not a holiday in the UK, so they haven't breached that). My point was that they should give equal consideration to other European countries. Perhaps they should consider having maintenance on Tuesdays instead, since most public holidays are on Mondays - that would avoid the problem almost entirely.

If ZOS actually did maintenance when there were no holidays, or anyone else playing on their day off/holidays/random unemployed day then people would have no reason to come and post on the forums.

Don't you see it's all a big ploy by them to make the game seem more alive by chucking out the player base once a week onto the forums so the whole internet can see how "busy" and "alive" the game is?

You're all just sheeple (next ESO race) sucking on the teet of big ZOS when they turn the servers off for a few hours and laugh at you while drinking their lattes.

Pretty lame for ZOS not to move it to Tuesday since that has been done before where they randomly move maintenance day. It just shows the contempt they have for other regions besides US. So much for a server that's EU, what a load of crap.
  • wesly.backersb16_ESO
Of course maintenance will always interfere someone's schedule, but be honest, this is just a bad moment.

In this time of globalisation, you would expect a bit of flexibility in the maintenance planning. Releasing an expansion on a holiday, Whit Monday, is a bit odd and denies the EU playerbase.

(for the record, Whit Monday is a global christian holiday and a fixed holiday in next countries: Antigua and Barbuda, Anguilla, Austria, the Bahamas, Barbados, Belgium, Cyprus, Denmark, Dominica, France, Germany, Greece, Grenada, Hungary, Iceland, Ivory Coast, Luxembourg, Monaco, Montserrat, the Netherlands, Norway, Romania, Saint Lucia, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Solomon Islands, Switzerland, Togo and Ukraine.) ... I don't want to buy a drink for all those ppl playing ESO off the above listed countries
