2 piece set bonus for 2h weapons... Good or Bad move?

Whilst I'd love my moondancer staff to bring me up too the 5th set bonus, and I understand many people want this too happen. I don't think it'll happen.

Honestly, The whole dropping the ceiling raising the floor, catering to the casuals (ain't nothing wrong with that!) and really trying to get people to 'Play how they want' I just don't see it happening.

It'd be to OP... playing a stamina DW is already unpowered in comparison to the double destro mag dd's of late.

Why would ZoS further increase the playerbility of mag classes?

    Personally I think it would be a bad move. I say this as someone constantly frustrated about not being able to use a 5/5/2 combo.

    I would rather they try and find something which makes each of them stand apart as well as bring some kind of TWF option in for Magicka users.

    Edit: It doesn´t make sense for a 2h or a staff to Count as two pieces. It is ONE staff, ONE 2h.

    Good. its help make more fun build. i never play with two-handed as i miss out on a set bonus. It open up for alot more fun builds.

    I don't think it should count twice toward set boni, but 2h items should give higher weapon damage or spell damage. Significantly higher.

    Bad move. You are right, the double destro staff is more powerful than a dual wield / 1H and shield. I would say bows are the exception, but it can deal good damage while staying out of the danger zones at the same time (thus not even needing armor or health if played right).

    magplar tend to use two swords for increased spell damage, downside of this is no weaving and HA on front bar.

    Having two handed weapons give two set slots would let you use 5+5+2, now option is 5+5+1 or 5+4+2
    Grinding just make you go in circles.
    Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

    That's not entirely true, ZOS have been quoted in an interview saying they're thinking about/looking at the idea of it.

    That's not confirmation it will happen but it means they've invest enough time to be willing to say something at interview.

    Would be nice to get HA and weaving on front bar for my magplar. HAve said it for ages it should be 2hd=2 set value. They would have to double the upgrade cost in reagents though, or else there would be more of a penalty for dual wield than there already is.

    I know. It was the interview they also said that RNG is a "pain point" and that they are looking at it. Statements to soothe the playerbase. Nothing else.

    I personally recived a direct PM stating that its something they are looking at (wont say more as I like the talks)

    that said missing out on a 5 piece or a full monster set (that have got increasingly more required and powerful) and I highly DOUBT those 2H (all in general not just 2H in particular) weapons are balanced around that fact.

    5-5-2 should be the standard and everything should be balanced against that. it should either be the standard or NOT BE POSSIBLE.

    have weapon slots be considered ONE location or have them be considered TWO locations ACCROSS the board. personally I'm fine with either it depends on how much power the devs want.

    anything else simply is not balanced, at its core, that is NOT balance to have half your weapons gain another 5 piece or monster compared to others.

    Yeah, well no. I don't think it's a good idea at any case. 2-handed sword outperforms dual wield already damage wise.

    But I do think they should add dual wield wands. Or knucklers so I can attack without weapons and cast fireballs from my palms like a fire-spiderman.

    My opinion remains the same - nope.

    Two handed weapons are balanced while taking their lack of second trait and set piece into account, while having other advantages like more power behind the blows for 2H or more range for bow or staff... while on the other hand DW and S&B have other drawbacks, like less power ber attack and the additional farming & crafting requirements in golding two pieces, etc.

    If they wanted to give the two handed stuff more of an advantage by allowing them 2 set piece values, they'd have to rebalance everything, add some extra drawback to two-handed stuff, or add some extra advantage to two-piece weapons, which would be a lot of work for them at no extra profit...

    ...and more likely then not leech diversity from the game in having all weapons end up too similar.

    Having to make some choice instead of getting it all in one package is -good-!
    So you can eithe rhave two five piece sets and one mosnter set for DW or S&B, or you can have one five piece set, a monster set and a three piece set, or two five piece sets and no monster set for your two-handed weapon build. But not both options.

    And as stated there, the worthwhile discussion in this matter would not be how to give two-handed weapons ALL the advantages, but... talking about alternatives for certain builds to using those weapons; mostly that would concern magica characters... who could benefit from a new weapon skill that may for example give ice mage tank characters an second option in their weapon selection...

    It could be a new weapon option for destruction magic, much like melee fighters can chooce between two-handed or dual wield; or it might even be an entirely new skill line... could be pure caster stuff like dual-wielding wands/runestones/whatever, or could be a hybrid skill line, like "one-handed and magic"... the matter has come up with one of my old suggestions after all: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/259011/additional-weapon-skill-ideas/p1
