My base game was purchased from Steam.
Morrowind is purchased from Steam.
I've been playing the game without problem until Morrowind.
My account page shows Steam account linked.

Build shown in the properties for TESO in my Steam library is above the cutoff number for needing reinstall.
I launch the game from the TESO page in my game library of Steam and go through the usual patcher and update check, then on to the Morrowind login. It goes to automatic login (no input from me) and no option provided for otherwise. Login fails with message from the title of this thread.

I have gone through the help sections here and have followed all directions, including the renaming of ProgramData folder in Launch folder. No joy.

I do not have the option to stop the auto login on the Morrowind page when trying to log into the game.

    Heh.

Tried everything I could think of so finally broke down and sent in a ticket to support.

If a fix is found, I'll post it here.

    Aaaaaannnnd....

    It's Fixed.

Turns out that somehow, my registry became so fubar that when I deleted Steam (per suggestion from the tech support folks), it deleted everything except the operating system. I couldn't even get online afterwards.

So, tried a roll back. That didn't work. So did a full reset and reinstalled the OS.

Then installed Steam and TESO from Steam.

And, I'm in Wardenfell with a Warden and all is well
