Will "morrowind upgrade" bought from ESO store work on a Steam client?

Greetings gentlemen and gentle-mer.
With the incoming and well awaited Morrowind upgrade,
I'd appreciate to hear some advices from any experienced customers willingly to share their opinion on my situation.
I have currently, on my account, a pre-ordered and redeemed Imperial Digital Edition for PC.
I understood that can't link this game to my steam account because the game wasn't bought from their store.
Meaning I would have to buy another ESO game, IF I wanted to play on steam.
So I had plans to acquire the Gold edition from steam store, since I'm lacking all DLCs anyways.
However.. I also don't wanna miss the Morowind pre-order. So as the discussion title suggests, here is my question:
If I buy a "Morrowind® Digital Collector's Edition Upgrade" from Eso Store, will I still enjoy the benefits from this upgrade on a "ESO® Gold Edition" bought from steam store?
Given this information will help me decide which and where to buy first.
