    Greetings!

Thank you for contacting The Elder Scrolls Online Team. My name is Robert, and it's a pleasure to be assisting you today.

While multiple players can use the same copy of The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited on the same console, you would need to own two copies of the Morrowind upgrade if you are playing on two accounts. Each Morrowind upgrade is attributed to a unique ESO account.

Thank you for your continued interest and support!

    Warm Regards,
    Robert

Nope, you have to have it unlocked on any account that signs in and wants to use it.
My son plays on my sub account and even though I've purchased all DLCS on my account, he can't access them on his, only the base game content.

    Ah but it's NOT a dlc. ;)

It is being sold as a stand alone game so in theory a sub account on the PS4 sjould be able to play.

    But can anyone confirm?

It's not a stand alone game though, DLC or Expansion, take your pick, either way you can't just buy morrowind and play it with out having the base game.

I was told in another thread (not by a dev) that you would be able to. I'm not really expecting to be able to tho, I think it will be a code unlock

I cannot confirm but I do use a digital copy of ESO and use it for my alt accounts. As long as the account that has it is locked as primary user in settings.

Same here, that's what is causing the confusion.

I think Morrowind would have to be part of the base game to be available on other accounts and given that you'll still be able to play the base game without buying it, I don't see it happening that way.

I'm expecting the very expensive 'chapter' to be nothing more than a single account unlock, bundled with another useless copy of the base game disc.

I'll be very happy to be proved wrong tho!

(I think this makes sense but I'm very sleep deprived so apologies if this is nonsense!)

Morrowind may not be called a dlc, but in technical sense it is identical to all the other dlc... you'll need it on your account, the current pts proves it. One account can access it, the other account on the same pc can't.

I suspect it's similar to way things purchased outside the game are available on both servers and things purchased in the crown store are only available on the server you were logged into at the time.

Which means Morrowind would be available on both servers, and presumably all accounts, because it's an out-of-game purchase. But I'm not 100% sure.

But sub accounts on consoles are completely different to separate accounts on PC.

On PC you need to purchase a copy of the game for each account - you can't make sub-accounts. Whereas on consoles you need 1 copy of the game for the console and then each user (each Xbox/PSN profile) can make their own, separate ESO account - with separate characters, bank etc. - not logging into the same one with a different gamertag.

Right, didn't know that. In that regard, discard my post and I can't give a good answer in that case :(

Applogies if my initial comment was a bit flippant but there were endless rant threads about whether it was a dlc/expansion/whatever.

I know that with the hard disc of ESO the sub accounts can play the base game but not the dlcs.

It will be 'interesting' to see if it is actually then considered to be like the other dlcs on the PS4. As that would re-open the issue of subscription bonuses.

Morrowind is an account upgrade, that is all.
The PS4 should treat it as if it is DLC.

Not all DLC can be shared between accounts. I talked to sony live chat support but they did not know if it was going to be shareable because its not been released yet. I've sent tweets to ESO and Bethesda support, no response from them that tells me its not shareable if it was they would say so but they don't want to discourage people from buying it so they say nothing

@KRBC Possible, but unlikely. There is no reason for ZOS to make an exception for "Chapters", the game treats all DLC and Addons(f.ex. The Imperial Pack) the same, Account Upgrades. They are just permissions tagged onto your ESO/ZOS Account, everything else is the same for you and anyone else regardless of what DLCs/Chapters you have bought.

It will be treated as DLC even though it is classified as a chapter. The base game can be shared on other accounts on the home console (as XB1 calls it). All DLC's, crown store purchases, etc can only be used on one account, most are not shared across servers. All other sub accounts will need to purchase the upgrade to access Morrowind. Also Morrowind upgrade does not include any of the past DLC.s .....

It 'should' work on sub accounts.

I am speaker from a xbox1 prospective, Microsoft want the family experience. So if somebody buys the game, everybody in e family can buy it on the home Xbox.

Game compinies get around part of this by selling upgrades (dlc) in game which don't apply to all the accounts. His Incan play ESO and all the add-ons with my subscriptionbut my wife can only play th base ESO.

But this isn an add-on brought through the crown store, Morrwin is brought through the Xbox store. I suspect Microsoft will be pretty annoyed if it is sold through the Xbox store but only one user can access i; thus I assume all users of the home Xbox will have access to it if it has been purchased.

Good luck with your logic, let us know when you cannot access Morrowind on other accounts, we want to hear "I was wrong" .....

In addition, they are also bound to the server ..... If you purchase a DLC on NA, you will need to purchase again if you want to play on EU .....

Good detective work, but I said in a previous comment that I don't think its shareable between accounts

    a) Are you sending these tweets while ZOS people are awake, because aren't right now.
    b) ZOS does not communicate with it community unless it directly benefits them
    c) The person manning(or ladying...?) the tweeter might not even know the answer, at which point ignoring you will do less damage then misleading you(and anyone else who read the tweet).

You will have to buy it separately as it's now called a "chapter", despite it's similarities to prior DLCs.

The confusion is that this dlc/expansion/whatever is available via the PSN store and not the Crown store.

Previous dlcs appear to only have been available via the Crown store and so are only for the account on which they are bought.

This - 'whatever' - is only available via the PSN store (or elsewhere with code redeemable via PSN store) which makes me think that it will not be tied to the ESO account but to the PSN account and therefore available to share with sub accounts. It is how all other dlcs (or whatever) have worked when bought that way for other games.

But I'm probably being too logical and wrong :)
