My request when it comes to Grim Focus

Let me start by saying that this is a fantastic change when it comes to PvP, and I understand why it was increased to 5 light attacks. However in PvP with all of the RNG dodging, and non-ideal circumstances this ability just got nerfed. In PvP landing 4 light attacks within 20 seconds can certainly be a challenge, by increasing this to 5 attacks this ability will be a lot less reliable in PvP.

My suggestion is a very simple one: increase the duration to 22 seconds. It doesn't seem like much, but I believe it'll be enough to maintain this ability's reliability in PvP without making it over-the-top in PvE.

Thoughts?

Sounds good if they really HAVE to make it 5 light attacks.. don't understand why it just can't stay at 4. How scared of NBs can they possibly be.

I'd dare say even 30 seconds.

The ability is strong, sure. It gives Minor Berserk, one of the best buffs in the game. But it's so cheap, that having 100% uptime is already easy. What is not easy, is squeezing bows out of it.

Alternatively, making it so refreshing the buff doesn't reset the light attack count could also help.

Frankly I hate grim focus, always have since they replaced Haste with it. NB does need a heavy DD nuke in its DPS arsenal but they constantly fail in its implementation.

If they want to get real about having a game with no cool-downs then they should just change it so the buff 'conjures' a Daedric bow that consumes mana for arrows and allows players to key press multiple times in a row to shoot arrows till they run out of mana or the bow is un-summoned.

They talk about resource management being integral to their game, well make it so the resource management matters for you using skills, not how many light attacks you do, which is in truth just a 5 second cool-down in disguise. If they want to put a timer on how often a nuke can be used then just do it already and quit pretending your combat system is something its not.

As a side note, Forcing players to use weapons for DPS is ANTI-ES. It should be an option, not a requirement.
It was always an option in ES games of past to just run around with empty hands and use actual spells to wreck stuff as a proper caster. From Arena to Skyrim, Bethesda never made it a requirement to hit stuff with physical weapons or shoot *** out of sticks to have fun, why o why does zos force us to in TESO?

Light and Heavy attacks in this game suck, changing their damage value won't change that, they are just bland repetitive animations that the game forces you to use for baseline damage. Heck the fact that the game lets you even cancel the animation for the attack should tell you something about how non-meaningful it is to players. Why structure combat around non-meaningful actions?

My wishlist for Grim Focus is to figure out why the spectral bow has the biggest disparity in damage between pve and pvp in the game. My spectral can hit for over 30k in pve...on par with the best snipe. Obviously damage is damped down for pvp, it my spectral struggles to make contact at all...and usually hits for under 5k, less than half what my snipes hit for.

I don't think it should be a One shot sort of thing...but it's almost worth it to ignore the bow and pull any other ability, even a light attack. On average everything else performs better.

    Yes.*

    No.*

*Assuming that only 3 Spectral Bow procs were intended in ZOS internal testing - you can safely buff it up to 23 seconds and prevent PvE-ers from getting 4 procs while making PvP-ers life easier.

This right here. Its so annoying to get it to proc only for it to expire before you can use it.

Alternatively you could have it extend the duration of the buff a bit more when it procs.
