Some ideas on how to maximize light attack damage

Hi ESO community,

to get everyone prepared for the upcoming changes, I thought it's a good idea to start some brainstorming about how to maximize damage with light attacks. As probably quite some of you know, there are some great 2-pieces- and 5-pieces-sets from the pre-OP-light-attack era, that I encourage everyone to wear now.

How about this nice combination for a Magicka-based char?

Queen’s Elegance, 5 pcs: "Increases your Light and Heavy Attack damage by 20%." (jewelry and 2 light armor pcs)
Galerion's Revenge, 5 pcs: "When you deal damage with a Light or Heavy Attack, you put a Mark of Revenge on the enemy for 15 seconds. After stacking 6 Marks of Revenge on an enemy they detonate for 4730 Magic Damage." (5 heavy armor pcs)

There are a few other nice sets, but as we can't use dual wield weapons in this build, this one for example isn't an option - sadly:
Molag Kena, 2 pcs (monster set): "When you deal damage with 2 consecutive Light Attacks you trigger Overkill for 6 seconds, which increases your Weapon and Spell Damage by 516 but also increases the cost of your abilities by 33%."

We are doing quite many light attacks, so your chance for your personal Daedroth might be high enough to make this set worthwhile in some other builds:
Maw of the Infernal, 2 pcs (monster set): "When you deal damage with a Light or Heavy Attack, you have a 10% chance to summon a fire breathing Daedroth for 15 seconds. The Daedra's basic attacks deals 4257 Physical Damage. This effect can occur once every 15 seconds."

Please only use a 'real' skill (in case you've forgotten already, I mean the ones who cost Magicka or Stamina) if your Wrath stack (heavy armor passive) is high enough to ensure it's worth it.

Forget about animation canceling too, we don't need to do it anymore!

Out of resources? No problem. Just do some heavy instead of light attacks from time to time. Place them foresightful into your 'rotation'.

Enjoy! Any advice on how to bring this build to perfection is highly anticipated!

I'm glad I was already planning to run Necro/Elegant with my Warden, their announcement today about increasing Light attack damage and Heavy attack regen just helps to solidify those plans; with nerfing the damage of Heavy attacks Elegant will also help offset that reduction.

I think Galerion will still be totally lackluster, but elegance may be really good for such a build. Kena will be extremely powerful too, as well as pure spell damage set, since light and heavy attack scale extremely well with weapon/spell damage (far more than any other skills). So, I think netch with a lightning staff, ysgramor with a frost staff (if you wanna try…), sun with a fire staff or even spider cultist may be even more powerful. Of course, a maelstrom staff is also a great addition.

The two undauted hybrid set (infiltrator and unweaver) might be looking at, also.

On the stamina side Kavatch Gladiator.

I average 12 - 14 K light attacks during execute and have hit for upwards of 25 K. Your adding more damage to light attacks and a CP star that directly buffs this already.

Didn't they say the resource penalty for kena was going down for morrowind?

    Edit: Yeah 20%. That's major!

For a light attack build, that's more than enough :p

And on the stamina side, the set who does X lightning damage for 20 second after a critical heavy may also be really good, especially with the speeded heavy attack.

I have a set of galerions revenge. I tested it since I liked the idea. It's horrible. Like, utterly horrible. Only reason why I didn't decon it is because I am hoping they'll but if some day. The passive would need to deal about 15k damage for the set to be worthwhile, it deals 5k.

If you want something funky, go with 5 piece Torug's Pact. While not the best DPS, the enchants do decent damage and you cna play around with swapping them. Prismatic dmg enchants against deadra are much fun.

Necro gives max magicka that does not increase LA/HA damage by much. If you wnat the most out of your LA/HA you must run a full spell damage/crit build.

You will be better off dropping Necro for another set.

I've tested all of them but Galerion but I imagine it'd work best with Destructive Mage - and someone else to proc the bomb. Too bad they changed it from Daedric unresistable damage and no one uses it anymore.

Odd that no one's mentioned Sergeant's. Or Storm Master (which has the odd distinction of being Maomer style). Embershield or the far superior Sunderflame which, like NMG and Morag Tong, provide a benefit to all attackers, Poisonous Serpent. My stam sorc has tested that set and, since S&B, I've wanted to test with a Jolting Arms bash animation cancel rotation, sorc for implosion.

My PvP NB currently uses Elegance/Noble's Conquest (dodge proc off mirage).

All of the above are superior to Infiltrator and Unweaver for a number of reasons.

Okay, that sarcastic idea has been dropped, well, hopefully I would say. 15% dmg increase to light attacks doesn't seem to be worth for such builds IMO.
