Why do you/don't you want the Lilmothiit race in the game as a playable race?

Now before anyone's face splits into 5 pieces or so, please don't turn this into another toxic bicker fest over it. Let's all be civil in giving our opinions on it to see how the whole community feels.
I was curious after seeing a thread about a new race on what everyone's thoughts were if they could vote without other people knowing and avoid being attacked.
(Hopefully this doesn't end up turning into a mess)

As for option 6, I mean like a hide helmet option, to make all of them appear as Khajiit to you but the players of them see them as their Lilmothiit. Thus won't be breaking immersion and lore for you personally.

Nah, because as witnessed by the incoming warden class, ZoS would only hammer the rest of the races to make any future crown store or "expansion" race an attractive proposition.

That's ignoring all the lore and whatnot. i'll leave that for others to have a meltdown over.

First time I'm hearing about Lilmothiit, but whatever, they can add as many races as people want, even sell them in the crown store as long as there is no direct benefit.

But please, let's focus on the matters at hand, like the game being an imbalanced mess in PvE.

Someone was asking for a man-wolf race a couple days ago. When they were told that wasn't lore friendly, someone... "accidentally," let them know about the Lilmothiit, an extinct race of foxpeople from Black Marsh. The difficulty in playing one would be the "extinct" part.

It's called being curious of things outside the normal complaining. The forums is packed with warden this, buff that, nerf that, the game is dead, I quit and so on. We can talk about something else can't we?

They can most certainly fit into the lore of ESO. They may be "extinct" but there's been soooo many times that TES lore has been broken in the games. Also yall ever hear of Dragon Breaks?

If you're referring (obliquely) to this post:

So if your goal is simply to shut down my proposition. Forums is not a place for you to dictate what is good, what is not. Forums is a place to discuss and present ideas or questions. To disagree is fine. To think you can control what belongs to the community, is really not productive. If you disagree then you disagree. There is no need to get personal.

Trust me when I say, no one is taking this personally. If you came here hoping for a gleeful endorsement of this idea because it is clearly something that no one has thought of before... you are sadly mistaken. There have been so many threads on this subject, it's not even funny. The debate has gone back and forth for, literally, years. When I say, "the answer is no," I'm not speaking for myself. ZOS has said as much in relation to adding some of the rare races people have asked for.

Also, this thread, like many that have come before it, show a blatant disregard for the setting. If we wanted an MMO where we could play a dwarf or a wolfman, we'd have WOW accounts. A lot of people are here, specifically, for an Elder Scrolls game. That means no (living) dwarves, no hobbits, no gnomes.

Again, people have come in here and cataloged the list of canon races that are, marginally, possible. Even then, the Lilmothiit are seriously questionable, seeing as they're supposed to be extinct by this point.

You're not the first person to come on here and ask for more races. You won't be the last. But, you're not going to get special treatment because you had the idea.

Then, yeah, I'll admit, it was a bit harsh. It came after days of Zarkeson going, "no, but my idea," while people were pointing to the lore, and I was more than a little exasperated with the thread in general.

    Basically this.

Beyond that, they were primarily nomadic, possibly (stick a big question mark here) related to the Khajiit in some way, and very reclusive.

It's reasonable to infer, though not outright confirmed, that their numbers were always pretty low. Beyond that, even seeing one was highly unusual. Which is why the, "presumed" extinct comment. Though, one of the Loremaster Q&A sessions pretty much confirmed that they're toast.

There were some. Most of them were of the witty variety. "I don't have any more pictures," "we all know you've got several gigabytes of pictures, you just can't post them publicly," or my, Hircine, God of the Manbeasts gag.

It's more important for ZOS to focus on fixing the broken parts of the game rather than something new.

The whole community has given their opinion on this so many times that I think most of us are sick of it. If you want to play a wolf-man type, you have the werewolf. It's the closest you're going to get.

Even if ZOS did decide to add more races (and I don't think they will), we'd see the Moamer, the Falmer, the alternate Khajiit breeds, or even the Dwemer first. I don't see the Akaviri races coming in as playable, but you never know if they ever decided to do an expansion on Akavir. (Ye gods, the forums would have a meltdown.)

The Khajiit and the Argonian are what we have for beast races, and you can stick the werewolf in there for some dog flavor. You can even make a Khajiit werewolf and live out all the wolf-cat dreams. Depending on how clever you are with the CC, you might be able to design a cat that looks a little like a fox. That's as close as you're going to get.

Imperial race was pay gated from the start, so that has always been a ZeniMax move. As per classes getting beat down, I really don't believe it was to sell the Warden. I think they just have a vision of where the game needs to be and it isn't there. With One Tamriel armor set availability and them handing out Champion Points like candy, they let the game spin a little bit out of control in certain scenarios. (This does not mean I am fan buying them or in agreance with the implementation or handling of them. I just don't think the tin foil hat argument holds weight in this case.)

As per adding another race to the game, I don't think adding a race that is intentionally limited or small in the lore is a good idea. This coming from somebody who does overly care about lore, and cares more about gameplay. If they add another race, I think it would be better to add something with presence in this game and the lore as a whole. Perhaps the Maormer.

The Imga might be doable. They've been notable in that they SHOULD be around in Valenwood and their absence has had to be explained ('they went to Falinesti/they're all hiding until the Planemeld mess is over'). But they're not extinct or from an area that only has sporadic contact with Tamriel.
