Race Change is WAY too over priced ...

3500 crowns for race change, seriously, why so expensive?!

I would rate it 1500 at worst, thats like 2.5 months of subscription!

Honest to god, this is spitting at your paying subscribers, specially those who choose a "race" out of loving it and then realized that race is pure crap for their uses.

I made a Nightblade and planned to be Magicka nightblade, in the description it CLEARLY said that they get bonuses to "Magicka", then after getting it to 50 I realized it was all a scam and no such a thing exist.

Now after long time I really got tired of Stamina build, considered how nerfed it is compare to the easy life of magicka NB and still want to play magicka NB, with over 248 skill points, yet, I can't even afford race change because its super overpriced.

Heck I should get it for FREE consider you made miss leading description in the first place!

Probably because they don't want people changing race as often as they change pants (don't start picking that joke apart with realism).

If they make it something you can afford every month then people will change their race based on meta every month.

I get it, however it is still way too overpriced currently.

Specially when skill points aren't moving around with new alts.

Also doesn't change the fact that Imperial suppose to have Magicka bonus and yet they don't have it for some reason.

If you think racechange is overpriced, look at namechange! :p;)

But the prices are what they are, consider the extra to be an additional fee to keep the whole argument between the "Racechange yes" and "Racechange no" people (which you can look up if you want, just dig into the forums for those long forgotten threads before we got racechange, arguing about it) balanced...

That is why they are nerfing specific clases and races... so then you and everybody else that got their characters run tru the mud go and throw money at the crown store ;) . And here is a quick example: you have a grand overlord with all the the titles from all the the trials and is redguard...well guess what? You either A. Erase, grind new toon (undaunted, mages guild, fighters guild and pvp skills) and loose all the tittles with that character, Or B. Buy a race token and keep the titles and skip all of the above :D

    Still totally stupid.

They should at least give Imperials their so called Magicka bonus ...

Imperials have never had a magicka bonus. Are you sure you're not thinking about Breton?
The creation summaries have been updated to give a more comprehensive overview of bonuses, but there have always been online guides.

    Clearly I am sure.

But shame on Zenimax and their answer to my support ticket, they never stand behind their mistake or give any compensations for them.

Same goes for the so called full days we lose from our subscription's every month to this over extended maintenance's.

OP I agree the price is too high considering you are buying a virtual unknown variable. Zos changes racials often. They should refund all money for race changes if they change racials.

As I see it, they are selling you something and then changing what you bought without a refund, what is that called in the business world?

Each time racials are changed by Zos I think EVERYONE should be given one free race change.

Zos is really "renting" us a race when we purchase the race change.

    "Let the buyer beware"

    Thank you,

Hmm. I seem to recall most games I've played that have such a feature, charge out the nose for it. Because they 1. don't want it happening often, and 2. know they can overcharge the people who want it because those few people really really want it.

coming next patch, race will be quite irrelevant,no one gets a bonus to heavy attacking.
race change is too high in price, but hey you can spend $40-60 to get warden class LOL

Where did you read about it?

I can't seems to find any racial changes.

    Thanks!

What he meant was that with the Morrowind patch and sustain being nerfed, people will be forced to rely more on heavy attacks instead of skills... so all races will be equal because none of them receive a bonus for heavy attacking. Although, what he said is not actually true, because Altmer AND Dunmer both have passives which increase elemental damage... so those players using staves will receive a damage increase with staff heavy attacks.

Most people wouldn't do it anywhere near that often. But even if they did, who would care? It wouldn't affect anyone else.

Yeah i think it's pretty meh, when they completely gut a race, there's some fixing or something needed i feel like. More so for the max level peeps that have so much progress on their chars.

Everything is over-priced to someone. Every maintenance window is a hindrance to someone. The only thing you can do is accept it...or complain. Either way, you will pay the price being offered as ZOS, so far, has not modified their pricing.

Plus, I'd be willing to bet they have some data mined their pricing structure to squeeze every last crown out of us. Sure their prices may be too high for some (as in this case), but they probably feel that enough people will purchase at this price point to make a profit.

$25 is about the cost of it in other games.

    Still too expensive, though.

IMO, what would alleviate that feeling of being overcharged is if they gave you a little bonus with it. Maybe a free respec scroll or something.

I think it's about 15 bucks in ff14 actually. I haven't use don yet, but they give you one free on each character (in mog mail) after subscribing for a month or two. one of the early vet rewards, I think the one that gave the cascadier beachware. 30 bucks gets you 3 uses iirc, which knocks it down to around 10 bucks a pop. you can do it three times in ff14 for almost the same price lmao. that's zyngamax for ya

Crown store items can be ridiculously overpriced. Honestly, they'd make more if they dropped costmon some items dramatically. Make a name change 100 crowns. Who cares what a character's name is other than the player?? Let people toss in a dollar to change their name.

Races changes are more valuable, so price them higher, but not 3k.

Which in the long run could potentially earn them a lot more money as people would buy the token more or at least be more inclined to buy it in the first place due to the pricing being lower.

Lol, what? I read that twice and still can't make sense out of it.

I don't remember imperials getting a magika bonus. And even if they did that's a bad choice for a magika character. Wouldn't you want somthing that has added elemental damage or better sustain?

I know this is an old thread, but race change is too expensive. I have never done it because of this fact. They should add this as an element of the game everytime they add a dlc which nerfs or buffs everything to h*ll. Leaving this option to only those with deep pockets is just wrong especially if you are a subscriber. They have never once offered a free race change since the game was released on pc. Most of my characters sit as storage space because of this. If it was cosmetic stuff I don't have an issue, but seeing it as an actual thing that affects players gameplay, it should not be sold for crowns. If each race had the same passives, it wouldn't be an issue either. This falls somewhere in that pay to win area........when you already pay 15 bucks a month. Come on Zos. You make plenty of money off of everything else.
