Is damaged from stealth reduced part being removed from magelight skill or are we going to make actually less damage being invisible than visible?

It clearly says the damage from stealth attacks and not the critical damage from stealth attacks. So, OP yeah pretty much. Good that you brought it up because im almost certain that this was overlooked.

I don't think it reduces damage, I believe it prevents the "from stealth damage bonus" so with the change to stealth attacks, it will prevent the 0 damage bonus. I haven't tested but that's my understanding.

I was reluctant to bring it up because ZoS is likely to say "Oh, now we need to change the effect to something else that screws over NBs!!"

They should reconsider the nerf in general though. Unless sorcs get a massive nerf, ganking will be the only way to kill them 1v1. With the current PTS patch though they should have plenty of time to start stacking those shields and not worrying about dying even without RML.

You're correct, I misspoke. Good catch.

Sorcs are pretty easy to deal with, just wait until their shields are almost up and then stun/fear them. The easiest way to kill a mag sorc or almost any magic class is to run them out of stamina. Fighting sorcs is like playing wack a mole waiting for the shields to go down or to be almost down. Its not hard it just takes patience and timing.

Also when I play on my mag sorc I dont run three shields its not worth it. The base cost to cast all three wards is 12057. Wards last for 6 seconds. It would require over 4019 magica regen to keep all of the wards up full time assuming I am not doing any attacking and my wards are not being damaged so I dont have to recast early. With the nerfs to sustain you are going to see a lot less shield stacking sorcs.

Either a shield stacking sorc is going to run out of resources in under 30 seconds, or you can just run them out of stamina. Also, you can just gank them and kill them before they even get a ward up.

Played for about 2 years on Xbox and did everything you can do (-emp).
    Still pretty new to PC-NA.

Zos already provided counterplay to the NB stealth burst by creating Radient Magelight. As I understand, it removed any extra damage from a stealth attack, including critical damage. The focus was on the stealth damage modifier, but the critical damage was packaged in as well.

Now they have taken the "counterplay" provided by magelight and converted to a global nerf, but left the original skill unchanged. They don't "stack" exactly, but with such a lowered ceiling it seems absurd to keep the floor lowered as well with the skill.

Now, with no stealth modifier existing, the difference is normal critical damage VS no critical damage.

So, if as a NB you crit someone from stealth who has magelight you will do less damage than if you had crit the same person out of stealth. Depending on your crit rating (which is passively pretty high for nightblade) you could indeed expect to do less damage regularly by attacking from stealth.

Can we look forward to future changes where attacks from stealth actually heal opponents instead of hurt them at all?

there's no way the will buff NB dmg until they remove stuns. After removing stuns, they could tweak some abilities to deal more dmg over time, but reduce the base dmg to lower the burst in short time. Overall dps will be higher, but in the same time there will be more options to counter play around it.

Radiant Mage Light is not being changed. Not many people slot the ability in the first place. Whats ironic is gankers slot this ability for the empower more then the people who actually utilise the stealth damage mitigation.

ZOS removed the hidden bonus critical damage that was granted for going into stealth. It was like 10% on players and something like 50% on monsters (pve). It would be nice if ZOS told us these values before they were nerfed so we could get a better understanding of what he had in the first place.

@Yolokin_Swagonborn Radiant Mage Light will continue to reduce the first initial attack from stealth by 50% and prevent the stun . Pretty sure the rest of a gankers combo will remain unaffected by this ability.
