@ZOS_GinaBruno, since there seems to be a sudden rash of people having this issue this morning (as well as many similar issues for the past couple of days), can you please ask for a server/network status report for PC/NA, and give an update here?

Doesn't appear to be a DNS issue, since the IP 198.20.198.110 gives timeouts too. PC reboot didn't help either.

This happens to me every time the servers go down from a DDOS attack. The fact that we can all get into PTS, EU and NA using a VPN shows this is something ZOS is doing to block us from the NA server. What ever system they have in place to lessen or stop the DDOS attacks is shutting out paying costumers as well and is extremely unprofessional of them to do.

There is a pattern to this and i have been caught up in it enough to know something is fishy by now. They will continue to ignore the issue until after Mondays maintenance. Then lift what ever blanket ip bans they set up. They will give ZERO feed back as to why this is happening to only a few of us, and pretend it never happened.

Intermittent troubles here of the same kind the last couple days. (Can't log in, no announcements, Error 200).

    PC NA, Western USA.

Same problems we had a month or two ago.

Played fine earlier to day but now can't get on.

It sure would be helpful if ZOS could let us know that they are aware and if they have any idea what the problem is or what can be done. . . .

We're not getting that because they're not aware of the issue. They thought they fixed it, everyone went home for the weekend, and they don't have anything in place to keep on top of whether there are ongoing problems.

And they want to add in Morrowind... Just find a server to rent that actually has the ability to run it. Seriously... potatoes dont do well on MMOs. You have $160 yearly sub which is $60 more than most MMOs and you cant afford a good server? Fire the CEO and hire one for half that salary.

They are very aware of this issue. This isnt the first time. It happens to a select few of us every time there is a DDOS attack. Its all part of what ever they have set up to lessen the server load during these attacks. We can still log into PTS, EU and even to NA if we use a VPN. Those of us who have been having this happen to us over the last few months know this is being done for a reason, and since its only a select few of the player base it doenst get enough attention drawn to it to make them stop.

You do realize that by saying they don't know this is happening I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt right? That it's much much much worse if they do know it's happening and they haven't acknowledged it?

If they don't know about these ongoing issues then ZOS comes across looking incompetent.

If they do know about these ongoing issues and just refuse to even acknowledge that there are any problems then ZOS still comes across looking incompetent, but in addition they come across looking like they don't give a damn about any of the players affected, and they come across as incredibly stupid for not realizing how bad it looks for them to not say anything.

If you choose to assume the absolute worst of ZOS that's your prerogative @Inklings. I choose to give them the benefit of the doubt. The simplest answer is usually the right one: they think they fixed the problem and because it's the weekend nobody is working and they don't know that there are ongoing issues.

You realize this actually happens every weekend to some effect and has for months now. Just cause youre being effected this weekend doesnt mean its a new issue. What is happening now is part of their anti DDOS system. Its why we can all log into EU, the PTS and even to NA if we use a VPN. A few players, sometimes more then others suffer every weekend to hide these attacks. As long as they keep it to a few players its not a big enough problem for it to "make them look bad" as you put it. Its why every weekend the same process happens and people can then play again come Tuesday and they NEVER address the problem publicly explaining whats going on. I would LOVE for them to come on here and prove me wrong but their lack of any responsibility week after week speaks volumes.

It doesn't happen every weekend, not by a long shot. Small scattered issues with connecting to the server caused by all kinds of different issues with ISPs, routing, etc happen a lot, but this isn't something like that.

This is something that has happened a couple of times over the last couple of months, and when it happens it affects large numbers of players - as you can tell by how many threads pop up about it (remember that the forums represent only a small fraction of the playerbase, and only a smaller subset of that fraction are PC/NA players - if there are dozens of thread popping up about it here then you know it's affecting a lot of people). When there are dozens of active threads on the forums, and tons of people on twitter (and presumably reddit) talking about it and there's not even a "we're aware of the issue but have no updates at this time" message from ZOS that's incredibly bad optics. It would take monumental stupidty on their part to allow that to happen if they knew this was going on.

    Again...

    We can log into EU
    We can log into PTS
We can use VPN to log into NA

This is part of ZoSs anti DDOS system. Nothing more, and there is no way they are going to admit that. ZoS has a horrible track record with being open about this. It took them months to even admit they were being subjected to these DDOS attacks. This is the 4th time this has happened to me and i have had friends who had it happen to them when i wasnt effected. This is not a two time issue and has been going on for more then two months like you said. We have been fighting this error 200 and poor weekend performance issues for over a half a year now. I'm done going back and forth with ya on this. Type in 200 error in search and look how far back this problem goes, i think you will be surprised.

The problem comes and goes for me. One minute I am able to log on, next Error 200.

I already eliminate the possibilities of it being anything else but ZOS by calling my ISP, no issues.

My PC, no issues, ran every test I normally would at work to help people with their computers.
