It's great that we have templates to "test" things on the PTS with, but I feel that they are so limited that when I log into one to test something that I just thought of, I soon find out that I can't actually test it. This happens more often than not and it's rather frustrating. I'm going to list off everything that I can think of that should be changed for future templates to give us the ability to actually test what you are asking properly.
Skills
The template character should start out at maximum level / champion points that are currently available on the PTS. To start with all of the skills should be unleveled and locked. This is so that if we want to test the progression of any one particular thing we can. However next to each skill line and each skill individually should be a "max out" button. This button would instantly unlock the skill (spending the skill point) and max out all experience for the skill and it's morphs so that the user can pick between either morph and have it maxed out. Clicking "max out" on the skill line itself would only make that skill line instantly max level, not the skills inside, thus unlocking any passives available for purchase with skill points. Alternately could have one master "max out" button on the UI to max everything out in terms of xp and level.
I understand that skill unlocking is brand new and probably has a lot of bugs to be worked out, but for future updates when creating a max level template, please instantly unlock the racial passive tree. As it is right now you can't properly test anything because you are missing those passives for your build.
Gear
Having all of the items in containers in your inventory is very cumbersome and time consuming to sort through when you are looking for something. First you have to find the main container that you're looking for, then the sub container and then open it and grab the items you want. This takes up inventory spots as well that is unnecessary. My suggestion would be just create a special vendor in every major city in every zone that sells every item in the game for 1g each. All gear including trials, monster, dungeon, weapons, zone drops, pvp, jewelry you name it. literally every item in the game can be purchased in every trait in every armor weight (where applicable). How am I supposed to do any real comparisons or testing when I can't get 2 of the same daggers or swords for dual wielding? This is the PTS, there is no reason to not have access to literally everything so that testing can be done.
Utility
Make the motifs / recipes / potions / food / drinks / riding lessons all available either from the same vendor or a separate "consumables" vendor. Give us access to just straight up buy any potion / food / drink in the game.
The books for turning into a werewolf or vampire should be available from the vendor as well to avoid having to have them on your character all the time.
Either simply unlock all of the Wayshrines in the game or make it an option in the character screen / settings to do so. Having to truck it 20 minutes across a zone to get a mundus stone for testing is getting old.
All traits should be instantly learn-able if desired by the click of a button on the research tab of any crafting station.
Please remove the hundreds of "rewards for the worthy" mails received when creating a template. This is beyond annoying and not needed if the above mentioned vendor was instated.
TLDR: I honestly don't know why the templates remain restricted the way they are right now. To me it makes no sense. Please let us test what we want to test.
