how to change the language (account / newsletter) for good?

I live in a german speaking country but prefer english; nevertheless i receive everything in german and when i log into the account i have to change the language everytime - all my settings all set to english and in the marketing subscription / profile center the preference is also set to EN - still get everything in german....
