Same thing I've always done! Stack damage be sneaky hope I kill them in 5 seconds. I love the gank style of play. I love the t-bag party that happens of on my face when I fail a gank!

I always let them finish their bags before releasing! It's just rude to release mid bag!

Just on a few characters I really want to try out the hybrid play. I actually have been developing a very effective hybrid sorc for PvP and I have to say I am actually surprised she's been doing as well as she has been. I mainly created her as a joke to see if it could work and to my pleasant surprise it's been working.

    Depends.

My stamina sorcerer tank will basically remain unchanged. He uses dark deal to regain stamina between boss attacks when necessary.

My magicka nightblade sap tank will be a little worse off with the siphoning attacks change. He'll have to heavy attack more for stamina return, and invest a little more into magicka recovery.

My magicka dragonknight dps uses a heavy attack build already, and won't likely see much change at all in sustain.

My Templar healer will be slightly worse off for recovery but it won't matter much, she heavy attacks often enough anyways and still has channeled focus.

My warden will be a hybrid tank. I'll use magicka recovery food probably (frothgar), and the bull netch for stamina return, with shield on one bar and ice staff on the other so I can block or taunt with either resource pool. Also will be using black rose on him for more returns from Constitution.

The pool is missing the most-likely-to-happen scenarios:

    1) changing gear
    • 1 full cost reduction/recovery set replacing 1 full DPS set
    • or reenchanting the glyphs to cost reduction without changing current sets
    2) heavy attack build

Why do people forget about the food that gives 5k health and 457 regen? It comes in both stam and magic flavors, it is better for sustain the Witchmothers and the Stam version of that, you give up way too much health with those food, For pve.

I have tested it and you get more regen from that then using regen glyphs and you get more damage from the three damage glyphs the you get with the max resource food, so it is really a no brainier to just switch to the max health/ regen food.

If this version hits live somehow , it will be difficult in PVP because there are so many variables in a PVP fight . I will be heavily gear focused and very stingy with attacks outside of initial assaults . Just from some practices it is looking more like a out live your opponents resource management then the old fully unload fights before .

i chose hybrid cuz its likely going to be a combo of things.
    1. choose different sets maybe in some cases.
    2. choose different glyphs in some cases.
    3. change spell selections and rotations maybe in some cases.
    4. being more careful to kill with the right attack in some cases - passives.
    5. and prolly mostly a bit of all in most cases but each character is different so... it will vary.
But i can say its not terrible. took a mag templar soling delves and soloing pub dungeosn i hadn't completed. Did not respec cp or skills or anything. did not regear... ugh... julianos 5, vamp lord 5, torgu pact 1. ugh... had not regeared likely after homesterad but might have been after 1T surely.
no changes to glyphs so still spell dam.

Chose to not use punc sweeps for easy mode mob kills just for fun.

undaunted delve and mage daily solo no problem - not that there wasn't an impact, magica bar went all over the place when i got stupid.

obviously this isn't a vet maelstrom run or a hard mode trials run so the small, fraction of players who run that may be laughing but... they will just have to wait for test reports from those and see what tweaks occur from a casual play content and even the solo pub content perspective, it did not hit hard at all.

obviously, upon review, this build could use a bit of regearing anyway so i will likely replace vlord with a better sustain set and work in some monster helms for her solo pledge and there i likely wont bench sweeps.

i just wanted to see how the useless and crippled templar performed,

I've run hybrid since Pelinal hybrid since it dropped let me know if you need help.

Please don't forget that regen food usually provides less health (forcing you to go below expected minimum of 17k for hardmode Trials) and/or less magicka/stamina (meaning your damage output is yet even lower) or no magicka/stamina at all. Even if someone adjusts the missing health via attribute points - he cripples his magicka/stamina resource pool even more.

This renders all regen food useless for DDs in PvE. But even if it didn't - with all recovieries being nerfed so badly, the additional regen from food barely exceeds the values we had in previous meta. With all cost increases of top of that, the whole regeneration stats are almost negligible in terms of build sustain. It also makes hard-counter (cost reduction glyphs/sets) far more reliable choice.

My magplar healer is a Bosmer so she's always paid attention to sustain (Seducer's, EleDrain, etc). The only time she gets tight on blue is when she's stuck in melee doing sustained sweeps to survive. Potion + dodgeroll back + resto heavy attack usually fills her right back up. I prefer to run Extended Ritual for the HoT, cleanse and help to others instead of Channeled Focus for the self magic boost - not enough slots to run both. I suppose going Channeled Focus instead of Extended Ritual could be a last resort to help mag sustain but I'm betting I won't need it. Rather, she'll probably try harder to avoid sustained melee - pretty easy for her in a group.
