Happens to everybody, trust me.stewhead2ub17_ESO wrote: »@Manpoints I'm a "lone fanboy" because I enjoy this game and would like a lifetime subscription option? While I enjoyed your meme, I find your labeling of me baseless and without merit.

I do not think any major MMO has ever considered a life time subscription. Cryptic is probably a good example of one with MMOs that have life time subscriptions and none compare to ESO.
After Morrowind comes and if I'm still content with the state of the game, I'd probably get a lifetime sub, would be most likely cheaper in the end than subscribing continuously as I have been since the game originally launched for PC.
Though how would that work for Crowns per month? You'd have to keep getting them each month, for this to be worth it imo.

Well to be fair, there would be many purchases of lifetime subscriptions by people who wouldn't stick around, and they'd end up winning money from a lot of players like that. But yeah, if the people actually stick around the studio would lose down the road.Lifetime subs are for games that are in development or to pay off debts from development. They typically cost 2-3 years worth of subscription fees. In the long run, lifetime subs lose money for the developers so they don't do them unless they need cash NOW.

That's a good point that I didn't think of, I'd never do RMT so such thoughts don't even cross my mind.Well to be fair, there would be many purchases of lifetime subscriptions by people who wouldn't stick around, and they'd end up winning money from a lot of players like that. Also consider that an account that has lifetime status, especially if it was a limited offer, is worth quite a lot to people looking to buy accounts. I've heard of a few instances even in ESO of people selling accounts, and that is not behavior developers typically condone, because it's not money that goes to them.

Lifetime subscriptions aren't a good sign for a game.
heard about an WOW scam, people selling their account just before an new dlc, then contact support saying they have been hacked so support restore their account back to some previous date.Well to be fair, there would be many purchases of lifetime subscriptions by people who wouldn't stick around, and they'd end up winning money from a lot of players like that.
