Morrowind Beta invites for console players?

Again, the original purpose of this thread was to ask if console players would be considered to download a pc client to beta test. I'm fully aware of what Zos says they have to do to push something thru Xbox, and while I don't fully believe it, I agree that you get a stronger ability to control your beta test on your own servers.
There's no reason they can't provide a pts only or beta only login for console gamers who want to provide feedback on the game that some of us have sunk 2+ years into.
Sorry if you don't feel we have valid feedback, but we do.
It's a shame they're so bad at handling accidents and problems, especially with the console community (see broken MoL thread or any other countless bug that's taken over a year to address, or has yet to be addressed because they can't reproduce it on a pc).
Like it or not, Xbox and ps4 players help support this game and a lot of us feel we're left on the sidelines for feedback and the opportunity to provide game changing input

WOT has a Xbox test server, they update it weekly. Nice of you to speculate though.
It's not speculation, it's a pretty expensive prospect. Some developers, read ones that are far more predatory, do pay to get one of these up and going, but still.0 -

Think they really messed this one up, the error should not of taken more than 24+ hours to realize. Then no proper notification to the console players that received the error. We are all left in the dark .....
Not one email was sent to the console players stating there was an error and they no longer had access. Only a post from Gina deep in another thread. It was not even a stickied post at the top of the forums for all to see. If you did not look in the Dev Tracker, you would not know there was an issue if you took the time to follow a dev post .....
Then they revoke all access to pts and the beta forums. There are other posts stating tech support helped with errors that support knew nothing about. Support attempts to help with the errors when the issue all along they revoked all console invites. Very bad communication that support does not know that the developers revoked all access to console invites due to a mistake. The posts state that support continues to help them access the beta .....
Yes there was a major mistake, the bigger mistake was not communicating this to the players that received invites so they are aware. Most still do not know and think the issue is on ZOS end and what they did to stop the error. They should of sent another email notifying the console players their invites were an error .....
There are a lot of console players that went out and bought the PC version to participate in beta after receiving the invite, including myself. Now we all are stuck with a loss of the expenses. But then again, it was unfortunate. All you get is a notification on post #35 of another thread. Sorry about your luck .....
I think since the beta invites were sent out and we took it upon ourselves to spend the extra money to purchase the PC version and help support the game expansion, we should be able to participate. All we did was follow the official instructions emailed to us by ZOS .....
What is even worse is the basic plain jane response that ZOS posts for the confusion. No concern for the community that went the extra mile to purchase an addition game/platform to help support the game expansion .....
I have read a lot of the recent complaints/issues on the forums on the upcoming changes. I blew it off until the expansion was released to see my self. Then they send me an official invite to see for myself and they do this .....
The way ZOS handled this issue makes it very clear they do not care about the community in regards to the game. I may understand taking 24+ hours to realize the mistake, which is way to much as console invites were on the forums a few hours afterwards. Not providing proper notification in regards to the error is a total lack of concern for players .....
This has me thinking hard if I want to cancel my pre-order and if I want to continue supporting a game that is not concerned about the players .....

✭I'm sad.
I had a pc copy I bought from a Christmas sale - a friend wasn't interested and didn't want it so I kept it. So I fired it up, downloaded the 49 gig pts, managed to get it linked in to the account that I got the beta email on, stumbled through character creation on a user interface I've never used before - creating a few horrible results, found gamepad mode so I could start using something familiar, crashed twice just on the containers getting gear, and couldn't beta any of the new content. 2 day effort getting this thing up and running.
And the regular pts was empty. Not one player in the Elden tree. Nobody was in the main or starting cities. I saw one player in belkarth. Ghost towns, all over the map. The entire time, not one word came across zone chat.
With 920 hours on my crafter and another 1,518 hours on my main plus the console subscription, I won't be devoting time to the normal pc server. So it looks like this may be all I'll bother seeing if it on that tiny screen.Xbox NA0 -

....but they didn't, I didn't go and buy the game for PC but it looks like quite a few people did and basically just wasted their money due to lack of communication from ZOS, all they had to do was make a single post as soon as they realized they made the mistake (which surely they would have noticed pretty quickly) so everyone knew what was going on.
in addition to that screw up they gave us access to the beta forum and I know like me a lot of people would have read as much as they could so a lot of people now have information they could freely release as we didn't agree to or sign any NDA, I mean I was in a beta for the "unreal engine 4" for 2 years prior to public release and the first thing the guys at epic games did before giving us access to the software or forum was make sure the NDA was in place, its fairly basic operating procedure really(especially with this sort of thing), take me as an example, while browsing the beta forum I saw a lot of images for the new armour styles(amongst other things) and because I was hoping they were going to do a free PTS access type thing without buying another copy I could use on my PC(like quoted earlier^) I grabbed a couple of screenshots of the armour styles I wanted a better look at in game and didn't want to forget or have to search for them on the forum again so I now have images of the new armour sets and I'm under no form of NDA so could share them anywhere I wanted.
moral of the story: you should really be more careful in future ZOS and if you mess up then make a post ASAP so people know what's going on and don't get their hopes up or waste money.Edited by smokey13a on April 26, 2017 4:57AM1 -

What compelled them to do that? Seems like an honest mistake on ZOS's part and the correction's been made. It's not their fault some people inexplicably assumed they could use a PTS key on any platform.0 -

actually that is not a test server in the same regards as this one. that is a pre-release server to make sure it works properly. something more games honestly need. the PTS is completely untested. As for "speculation" it is not, i was in charge of signal studios processing from patch to patch and honestly i hated dealing with microsoft and sony. Both enjoyed pulling the process along slowly unless you are a major company. Now ZoS could run one but it would still be extremely iffy.

As for why PM them, it is the better way to get them to respond. make a ticket then pm them about it, Especially something such as this. I have had a lot of luck with that manner.
@DrSweetazz i never said that console players do not have valid feedback or opinions. i simply explained why there is no PTS for them. As for the invites being sent out i find it in poor taste to revoke the access they granted. It seems a lot of people went and got the pc version just to test this only to find out its gone.

The keys that were sent out were for the PC version so some console players bought the PC version so they could use the key on their acct.1 -

That seemed hasty. I one time received free eso+ time for no reason, immediately questioned it before anything else, and got the answer as it was a bug. I understand these are two different scenarios, but being that presumptuous over beta testing shows dedication, but shortsightedness.
And @LilySix , they can do that because it's their game. We simply pay to have the right to access their servers and follow their ToS. The console players did something wrong too when they went out and bought a copy for a PC, because they thought it'd work.
Not trying to sound hostile, but it's strange, yet typical to blame a big company when the consumers are also at fault for something.1 -

I got an invite sent to my old PC beta account that doesn't have a game purchased on that acct. No console players did NOT do something wrong if they went out & bought a PC version because of the email. They were well within their rights to do so. It is not like accidentally receiving something for free at all, as per your example.
And yes, ZOS has done something wrong. There have been numerous posts/threads asking about this, both here and on the pts forum, without ANY reply for over 24 hours.

I received an email saying I had gotten a code TO PARTICIPATE IN THE PC BETA.
Now, I did not go out and by the game on PC since I only have a laptop which probably won't run it, but I can see why others did. They did it because they got an email stating THEY COULD BE IN THE BETA ON PC.Ingame:
