I can hit 500k + on both classes with a heavy attack build. No sustain issues at all. Worst case is i'll have to actually manage my dots after morrowind.
500k just no...no you did not...are your pants on fire yet?
he means maelstrom scores lol, not dps
I should have been more direct... i assumed everyone knew what 500k would have meant... especially since i already said my average self-buffed dps.
500k + is a vma score.
EDIT: Not that you need 500k to hit the leaderboard with a DK... someone got a weekly reward with a score of 384 points last week. Not 384k.... 384 points total.
And that's not saying enough? Zos wants to damage a class that gets a vma leaderboard score of 300. Makes perfect sense.
ha well the person only got a reward because the 100 spots didn't fill up for the weekly. Could have been his/her first completion and maybe it took 3 or 4 hours.
good - it was getting too easy. good players wanted a challenge- now we ve got it. 600cp outscaled vma long ago- the power creep and dps creep just melted most stages- look at any vma video by a decent player above 500cp and it was a joke. its why people keep saying you just need to learn the mechanics - because resource management, health management, rotation judgements- were no longer relevant. now we can get back to the way it was when vma first came out- where it required skill. as someone who has completed it ( on a most classes now) , farmed it (unsuccessfully) I'm looking forward to being challenged again with the new patches.
and keep in mind- the changes are only tests- thats what theyre their for- so a company will tend to go all left or right with a decision- in order to test the boundaries then swing back to the middle. so those that are worried about content or classes being harder- dont worry- it ll swing back to the norm soon enough. and those that make the classes like templar harder - are great. anyone thats duelled a magplar - a good one-and seen them press one button to full health every 10 seconds knows its a joke. while other classes have to dodge roll, buff, mitigate damage- do so much work to stay in a duel. magplar was too easy. now hopefully it ll be engaging- like the warden will be. the game was getting boring and stale. dungeons with end gamers was boring and just a melt fest. i rerolled a second account just to be challenged again- but with the 2xp events- I'm back to 300cp and starting to find content easy. sure i could walk around in prosperous gear- but i want the game to be challenging with top end gear. these are good things.

DPS = 25k+ for the DK and 30k+ for the sorc on the target dummy with no outside help. There are other builds/rotations out there that can do more than mine.

However.... stamina builds might be fairly screwed (again)
I have a redguard stam sorc that i was starting to use in vma - with 5 VO i never had to worry about resources.... guess we will see how that one goes now since all the skills cost more and cost reduction died/regen nerfed.

Not slamming on you here.. just on taking face value for a dps score from using a target dummy, in general. I still don't see how using a dummy "that doesn't fight back" can give you a true dps value. When you're fighting (well, particularly soloing PvE), any big/major target/enemy will fight back, disruption or whatnot, and causing you to break your rotation and forcing you to self-heal, dodge, block or roll. So, really.. a standing non-moving target dummy is not indicative to finding the true value of a dps score. Just like that classic and iconic Jean Claude Van Damme movie, "Bloodsport" (who hasn't seen it?!; if not, go watch it then and quit living under a rock or a cave. Ha ha), when Bolo Yueng says to Van Damme, after Van Damme only broke the "bottom one" brick, "Brick don't hit back." Ha ha
As for vMA weapons.. after over a year of grinding in ESO, to me, I still don't see the need for it in PvE. I guess, for PvPer or duelers, yes, it would make or break a difference. However, for someone who is generally a PvEer, yeah, there are still other good build/sets/weapons without a vMA one, or needing to keep raising your blood pressure or wanting to throw your console out of the window while grinding for it.

My magdk has recorded a 545k score doing a heavy attack build. It's stupid easy.
@Ch4mpTW the 600k+ score on Xbox was with a StamBlade.... !

I understand why you might think that, but the dummy helps you perfect a rotation and get your dps as high as possible as fast as possible.
Testing on the dummy shows what potential your build/rotation has... in most trial boss fights, the boss doesn't fight me back either. It stands in the same spot with the tank (or with little movement) for a few minutes while me and the other 7 or 8 dps wreck it.
As for self healing, most builds have some type of heal to it. But in most pve environments, your healer is responsible for keeping you alive.
