Is the banker worth it?

I am going to buy the merchant as there is a crown sale, but I am wondering if the banker is worth it?

Yes, probably more so than the Merchant. But I decon everything, only Vendor the Ornates

Banker is worth a lot more than the merchant IMO. Even tho you can ONLY access your bank it's still pretty good. Saves you a lot of time. The merchant can't repair gear so having a portable shop for only selling isn't comparable with the banker IMO.

I find it very handy, can also put it in your home. Summon in dungeons or trails etc. If you left something in the bank that you need.

absolutely and you wont realize how good until you see how it changes day to day play.

time is the resource most important and banker is time on every character over and over day in and day out.

Agree that the banker is far more worth it than merchant (particularly w/ housing). There's no shortage of merchants in the world but always only one bank in a city and usually a ways away from wayshrine.

Neither is worth spending additional money, but a good investment to spend ESO+ crowns. Their usefulness declines as bank and bag space increases. Plus members are about to double bank space, further diminishing the value of these assistants. But I'm the type to squeeze a nickel so hard, if they still had buffalo on them, the buffalo would crap. I don't regret spending Plus crowns on both of them.

Both are account wide.

Also, for houses you have to actually place them like a piece of furniture and then you or anybody there can interact w/ them. It does use up one collectables slot though which are limited in housing.

I never really looked at that way. I think I am going to roll an Argonian for just this purpose

How does increased bank space diminish the value of a portable banker? From where I sit, it doubles his value.

Not for me. 99% of my visits to the bank are to sell stuff, and the banker assistant doesn't give access to guild store.

I hadn't thought about that either, but since my main is an Argonian I really do have to get him now!

Banker is very convenient if you swap gear between characters. You cant accest guild bank or guild store though. Merchant is semi worth it if you really want it, they dont repair your gear which sucks and people you group up with usually will have a merch or you can port to someones house that has it.

If I could access my trade guild through my banker and repair my gear with the merchant id buy buy buy$$$$. As of now I don't think they are worth it

I'm happy with the banker. It actually let's my char carry less because I know that spare stuff is only a fingertip away. I don't care about guild banks so that is not a drawback for me. It is pretty convenient for a brand new character in the tutorial to give them an appropriate weapon at level one instead of having to start with a 2H sword.

I don't have the merchant and am not sure I will get her. Can't repair stuff is a huge turn off. Even a local bartender can repair stuff! Also, as mentioned above, most of what I pick up either goes in the ESO+ craftibag or is for decon. So a merchant alone doesn't really clear out my inventory very much. One reason I might get the merchant is that my character is a healer - a support character and she view that support as extending to providing a banker and possibly a merchant for those who may be grouped with her.

I adore my banker. I have 2 accounts. My main account and my secondary account for when I feel like playing with no pressure to keep up with writs/motifs/CPs/everything else. My main has the banker and merchant. My 2nd account doesn't. I can't tell you how badly I miss those two (mostly the banker) when out questing. I got so used to calling up my banker or merchant after filling my bags (which on my main are maxed) that when I play on my 2nd account, I'm constantly interrupting gameplay (which is a real imposition/irritation) to find a wayshire to travel to a city with a banker or trying to find a traveling merchant while questing in the middle of nowhere.

I paid full price at the time for both. I still to this day consider it one of the best purchases I've made in the crown store.

The amount of saved time the banker has given me is worth so much more than they charged for the banker. Best purchase I have made with crowns.

Id say the only people that are really going to benefit from the banker are those that want to spend more time out in the open world. Same goes for the merchant. If you dont have a lot of time on your hands and will likely be back in a city within an hour. Dont waste the Crowns. If you are going to farm dungeons or spend a great deal of time pushing a character through some content and storyline. Then the banker and merchant will come in handy.

Before the crafting bag he was HUGE HELP. Cause I could pull out all my crafting mats and such. Craft. Then call him and put them away immediately, no need to keep running to the bank. Now though with the crafting bag he isn't as super useful. I love him though case he still makes things easier overall. Though like others I wish he could access the guild bank/store
