Why does ZOS pay people to design motifs?

    Viable =/= best in slot.

    Once you've farmed best in slot gear, you're never going to wear crafted gear again as you'd be wilfully reducing your stats by doing so.

    As others have mentioned, not everyone in this game is an "MLG Pro" with BiS gear.

    But a transmog system would be nice. ;)

    I'm almost always using a crafted set in conjunction with a drop set. You can get viable results as any class with all crafted sets.

    Currently wearing Rattlecage with Kagrenac's Hope on my templar, both PVE (5l, 1m, 1h) and PVP (5h, 1m, 1l) Sitting at 20k hp/25k PVP, 38k mag, 11k stam, 4.5k spell damage, 55% crit, 1k mag regen. I've done most of the hardest end game contents including VMA, vet trials, etc... You can keep your BiS, I'll play my way, not how other players dictate, tyvm.

    Exactly. If I could change the look of dropped gear to a specific motif so I could make a full matched looking set, I'd chase after or BUY FROM THE CROWN STORE a lot more motifs. I'd even buy transmog gems to use. ZoS could pull in more cash off motifs, and players would like the way they look. It's win/win.

    I just crafted some Julianos swords last night for my magplar and while they're not BiS it's very unlikely I'll ever have 2 sharpened Moondancer swords. My current setup is probably the next best thing.

    Well now there are achievements tied to getting a full set of motif for a set.
    These achievements are then used to help calculate your chance of getting a master writ drop, so most of us just collect motif for the achievement points.

    I would like to see a system like Rift. You have a separate ui to add pieces. Zos could sell extra wardrobe slots.

    Artists need to eat, otherwise.. We'd have no artists. And if you feel that the meta is mandatory, you really need to stop letting the game play itself for you.

    Honest opinion.

    Lol, is not mandatory but every other set that can break the meta is non crafted, there's like 150 different non crafted sets while there's 10 different crafted sets and the 95% of those sets are very bad.

    Let's just admit that the Fashion in this game is the worst I've never seen, it's the only MMO I know without transmog.

    They need to make it so you can craft your own costumes from what mortifs you have.

    here's the solution;
    -add a perk in the crafting trees to allow us to sink [large] amount of tempers into the armor to reshape it in a motif we know

    ...

    I agree, however I think the 'costs' involved should be comparable to the quality of equipment you're wanting to modify. We don't want a system in place that is basically unobtainable to the new players in the game, and yet we want one that is worthwhile and non-trivial for long-term players.

    So basically, a system where roughly you need to provide materials to 'change an items looks' akin to those that you'd need to make the item from scratch. So for a fine (green) piece of equipment, it's just the leather/cloth/metal and the fine quality (green) tannin/resin/temper. But for a legendary piece you you need the base material plus the fine (x2), superior (x3), epic (x4) and legendary (x8) upgrade components before you are able to change its look. For example. Something like that.
    If you can be anything, be kind.
