Don't log out in Starter Zones if...

Little bit of a PSA here.

A free play week is about to happen (info here). If you are someone who experiences being unable to log into characters placed in busy zones (Rawl, Crag, Enclave hubs) I really recommend you do not log off in the starter ones during the free play week.

Previously we have had freeplay trial weekends before, and normally the starter zones are packed. Now new players are sent to the started island first after tutorial, but it won't take them long to enter the first main zone. We know Zos recently had implemented some patches for being unable to log into Rawl etc. so maybe it won't be as widespread as previous times, but it may be good practice.

If you do have a character in a busy zone you can't log into, you should try logging in during a slower time to move your character. If you are unable, send a ticket in to customer service to request having your character moved.

Are you normally able to log into crazy busy zones? Well then be sure to spend a bit of time in the starter islands/beginner main zones and answer some questions in zone chat, offer players some food, or maybe even some surprise gift of crafted gear! C'mon now folks, if you've been around awhile and doing crafting writs, we know you have a ton or refined jute and iron laying around ;)

[Edit] Good suggestion below: If you own a home, try logging out in there. Some other suggestions that sometimes work for logging into busy zones is turning your graphics to minimum before logging in, or porting to wayshrines in the wilderness and running into the city.

I honestly don't remember (or know) what Rawl is. Which starter zone is that?
    Clueless, but willing to learn.

Rawl Kha is the main city in Reaper's March. If you own a home in the game I would suggest logging out in there

@sarbonn It's not a starter zone, that was examples of other zones some folks tend to have troubles logging into during busy times. Rawl'kha is the main city in Reaper's March. Fantastic place with bank directly beside the wayshrine and crafting stations only steps away.

Have you been doing writs since the anniversary? Might wanna see if those few skill points they have can bumped them into a higher zone lol

The problem is that tier 2 writs are not guaranteed to be self sustaining, because you can get tier 1 or tier 2 mats from them. Tier 1 writs, though, only reward tier 1 mats, creating a lovely perpetual motion machine of anniversary giftbags.

Not that I have been farming 72 anniversary bags a day off of my characters, or anything...

@Rainwhisper I have been too, lol. This may not apply to folks without a crafting bag, but I know myself from just having 1 character that normally does max level writs... I've got enough mats at pretty much all lower levels to be able to sustain tier 2 writs for just one week, the chances of getting the mats you need are still pretty good in tier 2. Not the perfect solution, and hopefully everyone is able to log in fine, but just some precautions.
