But they do have a discount on tinfoil hats! ;)

But seriously, what could be done to remedy this? A automagically regulated "max price" for various items doesn't make much sense to me.
And to have people reporting unfair prices to a human being somewhere does not sound like ZoS' way of doing things.
I guess we just have to farm it for our selves, no?

I have the same issue with flowers right now (pceu) - most of them have at least doubled in price from what my add on tells me they should cost making my PvP pots run at something like 300 g a pop

A simple solution would be to set a day aside for farming your own mats. Understandably that may be an issue if you're strapped for time.

Yeah, I burned through Ancester Silk in writs and bought a bunch the first day of the anniversary. I was thinking earlier today that I bet the price is quite high right now.

Fortunately, most of my characters are doing minimum level writs for easy anniversary boxes.

    @Destyran

So the increased demand brought about by more people doing writs along with the new master writs is not a significant reason?

OP, Many are trying to get the master writ vouchers and as many that normally did not do writs are now doing them daily along with the master writs. Additionally, the anniversary event is adding more pressure to the crafting matts at guild vendors since the writs are the fastest daily quests for getting the anniversary packages.

This is the largest and probably sold reason, that ole supply and demand economy thing.

alchemy mats have gone to 600 per flower and people had done the banker exploit to excessive amounts like a few 100k mats they were at 3k per 200 ohh and we have chinese farmers there is no reason to have things in crease in price if you go through sales history and look at chat its same people buying everything

master writs- prices of nirnroot have gone from 100g to like a few K on both PC servers. thats inflation i guess. not much to be done about it that would undermined the economy.

this event now is an attempt to undermine it- with the writs being dominated by the wealthy elite- zos wants the barriers to master writs for all players to be brought down, hence the injection of motifs for everyone atm. and the back to back double XP . they hope that this will make more people do writs- more people farm- more people do master writs and the economy will balance -and that more will have access to end game faster, but it might actually imbalance the economy more.

I've realized just playing the game that I accumulate all of the materials I need for, well, anything I find myself wanting to make. Truthfully most of my gold goes towards furniture or completing motif chapters.

The easiest solution to implement would be to permit each unique account access to ONLY one Trade Kiosk.

In effect make it so that each player can only be in one trade guild.

That way it would be harder (not impossible) for wealthy trade guilds to price-out competition by buying up secondary and tertiary trade kiosks,

We need this to happen on PC, but with TTC and MM, it's just not possible.

The PC market is in shambles right now. Mats are verging on worthless (thanks to botters flooding the market, as well as there not being any new gear to upgrade/craft in ages). Motif prices have also crashed due to the anniversary event. It's getting harder and harder to make money.

Here's hoping Morrowind introduces new BiS gear for people to upgrade (and preferably that BiS gear is craftable).

Terrible idea. Making money is "endgame" for some people in this game. You'd be destroying the game for them.

Traders and sellers have no automatic right to "high prices". Anyone who understands anything at all about economics knows that prices fluctuate but for any given product tend to depreciate over time as a: the product ages (the "novelty of the new" wears off), and b: market saturation point is neared.

If you are not making money the problem isn't the market, its you. Sell something different, something people want to pay for, rather than continue trying to sell stuff they don't want / need anymore.

Raw Alchemy mats are not strong right now, Spell Power Pots are. So don't sell Mats, sell manufactured products. As more and more people do that Potion prices will fall (more sellers) but prices for raw mats will increase - more demand from Potion sellers. Anticipate the tipping point and get in ahead of the curve. Find players who a) have plenty of mats and b) don't have access to a Trade Kiosk, work out your break-even point for buying raw mats and stockpile them for the next market shift.

None of this is rocket surgery.
