Came back for the housing but having trouble getting information on all the cool stuff you can do with them. I did a preview but it would not let me lay down in bed or even sit in a chair, also I saw no crafting tables in the furnished houses nor any chests to put all my stuff.

Is there a way to tour someone's home to see all the stuff you can do with a house?

Also can someone list all the things you can do in a house....and where do you buy the most basic house items like crafting tables and chests and can you set the chests for guild use?

If you do a tour via the crown store you can switch the house to furnished mode to preview once there.

I don't believe any come with crafting tables already, only a selection of chairs can be sat in and no beds let you sleep unless you lay on one and do /sleep emote.

@Xateric Mate, no storage, no chests, you can sit on some chairs, you can get crafting tables and target skeleton but thats it and well... both are pretty expensive and/or hard to get - but dont worry, you can spend real cash on them.

You have to purchase crafting tables for your home. There are two types. Basic, which are similar to those found in the city, which can be purchased from players or via the master writ vendor for writ vouchers, and obviously via the crown store while in decoration mode in your purchased home. Additionally, you can get attunable stations, from the writ vendor or purchased from other players iirc, and make copies of world stations such as TBS or NMG, etc, and place them in your home.

Ok, sounds good....too bad about no chest, it would be great for guilds to have a big chest in the guild house, makes for a nice social area....maybe it will come with expansion.

They've said they will continue to build and improve housing, but no information as to what or when.

join a few guilds and ask your guildies whether they have nice furnished houses to show off. you're bound to see some awesome creations (even given the current limitations)

there are furnitures to buy from crown store.
there are basic furnitures to buy from npc shops at mostly 100gold per piece (different towns sell different things).
there are achievement furnitures that you can only buy from npc after getting the required achievements.
    there are player crafted furnitures.
there are master writ voucher store for buying craft stations and crafting materials for dps practice dummy. (it's a relatively long grind. it might take one to three months to get enough vouchers for all 7 stations with one master crafter character.)

    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ yep
The only useful thing with housing... besides selling master writs to people that want to make things look pretty... is the target skeleton.

I bought a house for 60k gold.... and payed 1500 crowns for a skeleton. (which is saved up from subbing) Totally worth it for me since i like to test builds and rotations. Otherwise those things are spendy if you buy it with in game gold.

3 ways to get a target dummy
    - do daily crafting writs, save up the master writs, buy the mat for making the target dummy (which could take weeks depending on your luck)
    - buy the target dummy from someone else that made it (i've heard from others its worth 150k+)
    - buy it in crown store (about $12)
