    no its not broken, snipe does NOT do anything to you mag or stam, neiher does any other skill. DEATH brings them to 0.
    The fact that health stays at 100 shows just that there is lag/desync, which probably comes from YOUR connection.

    5 snipes? How much health do you have, 40/50k? Majority of people drop dead after 2 snipes if not countered or healed up. Either that or the person sniping you must be a lowbie with no damage whatsoever.

    I can fire a 3rd snipe before the 1st one hits if they are far enough away such as on a keep wall.. Theres an obvious delay but typically the 2nd one has hit before they react and they usually run behind a wall just as the 3rd one has hit. By then ive also released poison injection which will kill them faster than they will heal.


    Bows at a long distance and when fired correctly are lethal. Rule of thumb is dont go afk, dont go around unbuffed, and dont run behind a wall before you start casting heals, reflect, absorb, shield, etc.

    A lot of people don't seem to get this.

    LoS won't protect you from bow abilities if you were in the open when they were fired. For example, you can peek out from behind a wall only long enough to cast Toxic Barrage, then run back behind that wall and listen to your opponent die as your arrows apparently fire through stone.

    As the title says

    Now that snipe is the first bow ability I am getting snipe lagged like crazy.. One moment I am walking/running and the other moment my magicka/stamina goes to 0 and 2 seconds later I die. Or if Im fighting someone and out of nowhere same thing resources to 0 and health drops seconds later.. And when I look at the death recap it's snipe snipe snipe snipe snipe and while I look at all that I hear the snipes hitting me but Im already dead looking at the death recap.. Really annoying now..

    Snipe does not cause lag, by any means. Snipe is just one of the greatest beneficiaries of lag.

    When your resources drop and your health doesn't you have already died, your game/health is desync'd. This can and does happen with a variety of abilities, although it is probably more noticeable with Snipe due to the fact that Snipes attack function acts as a sort of que. So a slight delay can mean death.

    As mentioned by other posters, this same event happens with other skills, it happens to me quite frequently with Templars running grothdar and or Mag Sorc burst combo's(curse,fury, DBOS all going off at once).

    It can happen with any amount of burst combined with some lag, where it becomes apparent that the server thinks your dead and your client thinks your alive and they take a moment to come to an agreement.

    People on here will respond with L2P to virtually all complaints against snipe(and bows in general), and that's because aside from lag spikes snipe is an incredibly easy skill to counter.

    I have a mic, going to buy a headset soon that has the ability to hear people sneaking/walking around etc might help me more with these people in stealth on console

    I can help you with that brother. Since we both PvP on PS4, I use the Sony PS4 Wireless Bluetooth headset which is about $79.99 on Amazon.

    I can hear everything in PvP with these on, I've heard a incoming snipe hit my body on my MagSorc and immediately I dismounted myself and CC broke/Shielded up.

    I recommend this headset, it's absolutely a must for PvP.

    On the other hand, I highly recommend not getting this headset. It's sound quality is okay but the top piece has a tendency to break easily which will cause quite a bit of discomfort when used afterwards. I'd recommend pretty much any other headset over it that is at a similar price point.

    The sides and the top have broken on mine! Luckily though, I've mastered the art of "Sellotape and old debit cards". :blush:

    Its not comparable to curse, fury, dbos. Those abilities are timed to hit at the same time. It doesnt happen because of lag but because its timed. Snipe is an incredibly easy skill to counter but what we are talking about here has no counter. In any case, snipe is obviously a very toxic ability in PVP and in PVE is crap. People have been asking for bow to become a viable main weapon for a very long time. Its about time to replace snipe with a spammable DPS ability like force pulse. People will be whining for a while cause their easy kills will be taken away but they'll get over it.

    I wasn't comparing to curse, fury, dbos, only mentioning that I have the same thing happen with that combo. The situation where I see my resources drop and I'm running around waiting to die then suddenly all those things animate on my dead body, is absolutely because of lag. Being instantly blown up before I can respond isn't because of lag, but the health desync and resource loss is.

    Not being able to respond to any combo because the game lagged and the skills did not animate for you to react is not unique for any skill. Simply because you can burst people with curse, fury, dbos doesn't mean that someone did not lag or experience a health desync and die for no apparent reason. I experience it all the time even without snipe, you will be dualing someone and suddenly they just fall over, or your own resource regen stops with no poison proc or explanation. Soon you are sliding around on the ground.

    I think you will find most of us bow users have no issue with seeing snipe go the way of the do-do.

    At any point in PVP you can find yourself sliding around on the ground without knowing what happened, it is simply more apparent with snipe because of the nature of the attack and attacker.

    When you are in a melee or a zerg and it happens you attribute it to lag, it only really causes rage when you think you are safe and suddenly you are sliding on the ground. Essentially the anger is over feeling like you should always be able to respond, and that you didn't have that opportunity.

    Just as when there are 200 players fighting around a siege, skills lagging is almost as funny as frustrating. Yet when you are running alone between keeps and your character freezes and reappears 500 m behind where you were, you get incredibly angry about how nothing is happening and you shouldn't be glitching.

    Snipe isn't really the issue.
    Huge lag in PVP is the problem.

    I have had it happend a lot in PVP and not with snipe. I catch a player I begin my gank rotation.. lag out...die.
    I swear there are some players that have a sort of lag shield.

    As for any large battle I completely lag out all the time. I can't go near any of the large PVP battles.
    It is like being DDoSed whenever there are a large numbers of players on screen.

    Also all addons should be disabled for PC PVP....

    But snipe isnt the same with other abilities. The travel time is too damn long and it causes 3-4 snipes to hit at the same time. If someone is hardcasting frags at me i wont get hit by 4 of them at the same time. And the fact that snipe has a ridiculous range makes it even worse. In any case, you cant deny that snipe is a very toxic ability. Its about time to change it to something more skillful. Like i said scrubs abusing it will whine for a bit but they'll get over it when they find the next easy mode ability to spam.

    It has happened but it is not like an epidemic like you make it sound. To each is own I just make sure to stay buffed at all times etc to prevent that from happening. Has it happened, 100% just like a NB lurking in the shadows who power bursts from stealth with surprise attack, ulti, surprise attach, selene proc, dead.

    As others mentioned, the audio cue from snipe gives you a big heads up, also if you sacrifice an ability slot for radiant magelight, you will rarely get ganked. It removes the stun and cuts the damage in half.

    It's not snipe lag but just lag in general. When all your resources went to zero that was when you actually died. I have played on both good connections and bad ones. What you are describing is what I see when I play on a bad connection. And when I say good or bad connection for eso it means more than just the speed of the connection. It can be a fast connection but if it isn't stable it sucks for eso. Do a speed test and if your graph looks like a mountain range then that is most likely your problem.

    As mentioned by other posters, this same event happens with other skills, it happens to me quite frequently with Templars running grothdar and or Mag Sorc burst combo's(curse,fury, DBOS all going off at once).

    It can happen with any amount of burst combined with some lag, where it becomes apparent that the server thinks your dead and your client thinks your alive and they take a moment to come to an agreement.

    People on here will respond with L2P to virtually all complaints against snipe(and bows in general), and that's because aside from lag spikes snipe is an incredibly easy skill to counter.


    Its not comparable to curse, fury, dbos. Those abilities are timed to hit at the same time. It doesnt happen because of lag but because its timed. Snipe is an incredibly easy skill to counter but what we are talking about here has no counter. In any case, snipe is obviously a very toxic ability in PVP and in PVE is crap. People have been asking for bow to become a viable main weapon for a very long time. Its about time to replace snipe with a spammable DPS ability like force pulse. People will be whining for a while cause their easy kills will be taken away but they'll get over it.

    I wasn't comparing to curse, fury, dbos, only mentioning that I have the same thing happen with that combo. The situation where I see my resources drop and I'm running around waiting to die then suddenly all those things animate on my dead body, is absolutely because of lag. Being instantly blown up before I can respond isn't because of lag, but the health desync and resource loss is.

    Not being able to respond to any combo because the game lagged and the skills did not animate for you to react is not unique for any skill. Simply because you can burst people with curse, fury, dbos doesn't mean that someone did not lag or experience a health desync and die for no apparent reason. I experience it all the time even without snipe, you will be dualing someone and suddenly they just fall over, or your own resource regen stops with no poison proc or explanation. Soon you are sliding around on the ground.

    I think you will find most of us bow users have no issue with seeing snipe go the way of the do-do.

    But snipe isnt the same with other abilities. The travel time is too damn long and it causes 3-4 snipes to hit at the same time. If someone is hardcasting frags at me i wont get hit by 4 of them at the same time. And the fact that snipe has a ridiculous range makes it even worse. In any case, you cant deny that snipe is a very toxic ability. Its about time to change it to something more skillful. Like i said scrubs abusing it will whine for a bit but they'll get over it when they find the next easy mode ability to spam.

    So if people will just find another ability to spam what is the point?

    On the other hand, I highly recommend not getting this headset. It's sound quality is okay but the top piece has a tendency to break easily which will cause quite a bit of discomfort when used afterwards. I'd recommend pretty much any other headset over it that is at a similar price point.

    I bought a headset competitor to this, and the ear muffs have ear fatigue on them and are not nearly as comfortable. The mic on off brands are the biggest hit or miss.

    The biggest reason I recommend it is cause its built by Sony, so the device WILL work. Whereas with 3rd party brands you're always taking a risk.

    Snipe does not cause lag, by any means. Snipe is just one of the greatest beneficiaries of lag.

    When your resources drop and your health doesn't you have already died, your game/health is desync'd. This can and does happen with a variety of abilities, although it is probably more noticeable with Snipe due to the fact that Snipes attack function acts as a sort of que. So a slight delay can mean death.

    The "problem" will arise from either fighting someone else while someone sneak attack snipes you, two people sneak attack snipe you, or someone spams snipe from stealth(well starting in stealth). Sometimes the travel time, depending on the distance, is longer than the cast time so to the person getting hit it seems like you just got sniped 4 times all at once.

    I get it, it sucks. But the people who don't complain about this skill all have figured out that the lag you experience right before you get hit is a really good tell that allows you to play defensively, then find the dude and smash him.

    The lag happens from getting hit out of stealth with multiple moves and your healthbar trying to catch up. Ever notice that you might be moving and all of a sudden can't anymore then you get hit what seems like an eternity later? Its a thing. But its also a very obvious tell.

    If you're already in a laggy environment, well things will lag.

    I don't get it why people think I am whining for a nerf, people who use snipe that cool I got nothing against them I just want this bug or lag or whatever it is to be fixed.
