I've seen many a post about the broken dungeon finder in the past (months ago) and some more slightly recent, but based on the lack of anything lately, I'd imagine it has to do with the fact that people have just simply given up on it. We were given this new "feature" last year, the Equipment bonus, that gives more raw spell damage and weapon damage, to encourage players to use the dungeon finder to form groups and meet new players across Tamriel. At this point in time, all it has done is force you to form your group more locally (or from guilds) and simply traveling into the dungeon manually. I'm going to list below a NON-COMPLETE catalog, if you will, of the many never ending issues CURRENTLY presiding with the dungeon finder:
1) It boots you from the zone (Removing from area, with a countdown timer) as soon as you enter the delegated dungeon (doesn't matter if its random, vet, normal or a specifically selected dungeon). It does this in my experience more than 50% of the time. Soon as you land at the door, 10 seconds later all players are removed and then left to reenter manually as the FIFTEEN MINUTE PENALTY applies.
2) If you stay in a group that got lucky enough to enter the dungeon proper, completed it, and decide you like these people and want to continue dungeoning. The leader selects the new dungeon preference, and after all players hit accept, you simply do not get pulled into the dungeon. The activity track says "Activity Complete" and again, you are forced to manually enter (and yes, the FIFTEEN MINUTE PENALTY applies again). You are forced to reform your group, each and every time.
3) When attempting to ACCEPT the dungeon ready check, it will PERSISTENTLY pop up time and time and time and time again. I hit yes (F) to the ready check so much my keyboard etching is wearing off. If I've hit yes so many times, hitting NO will not work either and I'm stuck in an endless loop that forces me to camp.
4) So in this scenario, I've successfully gotten my ready check to accept, 3 out of the 4 roles also show as ready in the activity tracker, but ONE player is not accepting for whatever reason. It seems once their timer has ran out, the dungeon finder will bug itself out and one of two things will happen. It will start a loop with a message on screen saying "Ready check canceled, group not viable" over and over forcing you to, yet again, camp. If that does not happen, it will instead just simply remove you (or anybody else already IN group with you) from the queue entirely, at which point LUCKILY it does NOT give a fifteen minute penalty, so you CAN go and requeue immediately.
This is far from all the issues with the dungeon finder, and some of these issues are strangely similar to older bugs that, at one point, HAD been patched and fixed. Is an older version of the client being used for newer updates, then being pushed lived, causing this horrible issue? I really like the IDEA of the dungeon finder, and the more recent updates to it were a good start, but it needs so much more work. In it's current state, it's essentially unusable, and causes other features in the game to subsequently become unusable. It's time to take a good hard look at it, implement MANY fixes for it, and maybe just leave it alone, like forever, afterwords?
