I was expecting the trending high prices for this mount so I was pleasantly surprised to see it was only 2500 crowns! Hopefully this is a sign that they are listening to player feedback about the prices of crown store items and bringing the prices back down to a reasonable amount.

At this price yes. If ZOS continues with this line of pricing then they're going to make a lot of people happy.

This is the first time I have seen one priced and thought "that's a good deal, nicely done" and not "darn... there goes my RP book allowance for the month".

This is a great chance for players to show ZOS that lower priced mounts sell more units than higher priced mounts and can produce more overall profit. If the team over there sees this then maybe more 2500 mounts are in our future.

Elk, Dro-M'athra Senche and Frost Mare were the only ones that went higher than 2500. Every single time, people complained (and not without reason, although the Frost Mare was 3000 Crowns and I don't think that was too bad taking into consideration all the effects it has). The Zombie Horse was 2500 on the first year it was offered and 1200 on the second.

I hope that reminds ZOS that people have generally accepted the 2500 Crowns per Limited Mount pricing model and refrain from offering mounts that cost much more than that, like the Elk, in the future.

I don't remember that because that never happened.

The first Limited Time mount of the Crown Store was offered for the first time on April 2015. It was the Senche-Leopard Mount and it costed 2500 Crowns. That was under two mounts after the Crown Store was introduced to the game. It was followed by the Black Senche-Panther in May of the same year and Clouded Senche-Leopard in August. All of them for 2500 Crowns each.

There was only one 1300 Crowns mount offered before the Senche-Leopard, and not for limited time (Tessellated Guar). Also, no 1800 Crowns mounts were offered until the Senche Lioness was introduced in June 2015.

I was not impressed by the look and feel of this mount ingame. I didnt buy it thankfully. I previewed it in crownstore and watched a friends who bought it. The roar is identical to the senche and the look is pretty bland, also the armor is stuck, no changing the look of it.

    Here's the thing....
For some reason, certain groups of people try to justify what they pay for digital items, however, in reality.....it's all too high.

There isn't one item on the crown store priced reasonably. Going further, there hasn't been any item on the crown store priced reasonably. Items are set and some buy, some complain, etc.

The game is appropriately priced and the upcoming expansion is appropriately priced.

All prior DLC has been over priced

Most dlc should cost $4.99 at most and the expansion makes sense at $39 only if we are getting an expansion rather than an Orsinium sized dlc. I do think Orsinium fits $9.99 to $14.99 tho

Mounts, costumes, convenience items, etc should be priced at $1 for a bundle and $4.99 to $9.99 for larger bundles.

I understand people ideas that if customer pay it, keep doing it....I don't agree with that mindset but I also disagree with telling customers one thing about your pricing and pay to access content models changing every 12 months which often are said not to change initially.

The other side of the coin is we are all at fault for buying this stuff....I've taken a leave of absence tho so....best of luck on this crown stuff

Don't forget if you think 2,500 is too much for a mount you still have a range of other options:
    • Horses for 10,000g or 42,500g in-game
    • Crown store horses for 900 crowns each (for some reason only 2 of them are still sold though)
    • Tessellated Guar for 1,300 crowns
    • The 'standard' bear, camel, wolf and lion for 1,800 crowns each

And ALL of those mounts are completely identical except for the price. If 3 players with the same riding skills had a race - one on the 10k horse, one on a 1,800 crown mount and one on the 4,500 crown elk - it would be a draw. (Or it'd come down to who chose the shortest route.) They'd all have the exact same speed, stamina, jump the same distance, same number of bag slots, everything.

So there is absolutely no need to pay more than 10,000g / 900 crowns for a mount unless you like how it looks. And if you do it's entirely down to whether you like it enough to justify the price.

I was happy to pay 2,500 crowns (or more precisely £10.90) for the clouded senche-leopard and the ice wolf because I really like both mounts and they suited my characters, so to me they're worth the money. Whereas even though they're functionally identical and the same price the silly flaming horse or the glowing eyed "Doom" wolf or whatever is not worth buying for me because I don't like them and the various other senche weren't worth buying because it feels redundant to me to have more than one (although if they come back I may get them one day, just for the variety).

It's purely aesthetic, which means there's no absolute right or wrong answer. I think it's well worth letting ZOS know what you think, especially if you were planning to buy a mount and then changed your mind because of the price (I was going to get the elk if it was 2,500 crowns), but it shouldn't be surprising that other players will have a different opinion about the same item, or an identically priced one.

I did. I think she looks amazing. She has really incredible fur detail, and the eyes and armor look great, in my opinion. I never liked the brown bear mount because I don't think it has very nice fur detailing or shading, but the sabre cat looks great. If they ever painted the bear mount better, I'd get it in a heartbeat.
