Factions Dominating Campaigns Month After Month

@prootch .won't enter the d debate in the meaning of domination, not the point, just for the records I was simply talking about scores. it s true that early morning/night capping has something to do with the scores but there is not much you can do about this. Players play when they can't or want: players from different time zones, players on holiday, strange work time, etc. I did that myself a few time during holiday when early morning is when I had most free time.

Lowering ap gain during non prime hours would unfairly penalize those players, and capturing an empty keep already gives less ap than a defended one.

I keep that increasing the stake for winning the campaign, and not always the same faction, would help.

Btw, don't forget that AD eu has Big Boss motivating the troops ☺.

Well... ap is not really the subject, these players who do woodcap in the morning rarely perform ap wise globally or on prime time. Then ap and campaign score could be adapted according to effective keep defense since hours of empty campaign keep possession actually leads to a kind of "fake" AvA score. Personnally I really don't care, since it does not really change the AvA prime time result. Yet that's really nothing to brag about ^^

    The timezone excuse is bullcrap.
I read an analogy on another thread that is actually quite on point. Imagine Cyrodiil is a soccer field. You play to score goals by outplaying the other team, but the game isn't interesting if there isn't another team to fight and you are just shooting goals in an undefended net.
That's what happens when people capture keeps on off hours, they are literally playing the field with no opposing team, and the goals they score are tallied up just the same as the ones scored during prime time when both teams are up.

People with odd work hours , night shifts, different time zones aren't all packed in one guild or faction, if time zones were a valid excuse, then you'd have about the same population on all factions during odd hours. I doubt people consorted when they bought the game and were like "hey, all russians go play ad so that we can woodcap during off hours".
People woodcapping are doing so on purpose, to win the campaign. Not to "play the game".

When there is no enemy team, don't play the field.

Agreed this is a huge problem. I won't touch True Flame NA anymore because of it. I'm not sure why people think switching over to their DC toons halfway through the campaign to zerg the living crap out of everything is fun? Maybe they just want more AP, I dunno. And then on top of that EP always hits AD before DC, not sure why, maybe they hate the other elves, but pretty much creates the same scenario month in and month out for about, I dunno 6 months now? Half a year and no changes in PvP dominance?
i do not read replies. still playing stamdk for some reason.

I've said this for 2 years now, but everyone calls me cry baby when I bring it up or gives me some "well every faction does it" excuse. The most OP thing in this game is having uneven population.

However, does TF really have uneven population? It seems to me every time I log in all 3 alliances are poplocked. To me TF has the most balanced campaign. Just the other day I went to AS and it was 1 bar vs 3 bars, and if you go to BwB good luck with EP ever making it past 2 bars.

Is this really fair? I quit playing PvP for 3 months because of this. The population was the same every day.

Its Funny to see, but EP dominated Wabbajack for the first year since Launch... DC was consistently a distant third place... and predominatly the battle was between EP and AD. I can remember thinking man DC needs some help. Then some big EP PVP guilds rerolled to DC and things changed.

Campaigns change and evolve. There used to be major guilds that had toons on all three factions on the main servers, if they noticed a rofl stomp month after month, theyd change to the losing faction. Im sure this is still going on, give a few more months and dc will be underdog, ad will be top and ep master faction will be seconds still. Most of the time these guild faction changes occur from AD to DC. DC to AD.

They do need to balance the pops with controls. I have lots of good ideas which I've posted lots, so I'm just going to say DC wins cause we fight legit and like warrior beasts, and ride off into the sunset with my popcorn.

    No balance is needed.
Even though pact scored second place this round, I kinda agree that DC didnt "loose". The only reason why AD wun, was because of alarm clocks to flip the map when no one was there to put up a fight.

My team have clashed enough times with Big boss raids that we got pretty fokin good at defending with few vs many. Which slowed down AD's constant morning cap and gained us points enough to overtake DC. I am pretty sure that if DC just had any form of pug teams at 5am - 9 am, they would either win or come second.

I want to note that the Big Boss vs my hate team, has nothing to do with any tactics or plans what so ever. Big boss likes big battles with as many people as possible, which is exactly what my team are looking for......we just fight.

The AD crew that seams to only want an empty Cyro to fight, is not Big boss and I am tired of hearing that. I don't know who these AD are, nor do I care. I only have this to say,

Keep up these morning cap tactics.....and find out what pact can morph into.

    Pact, out-fokin-standing well done!

The problem is that the factions don't have equal presence during the day.
During the weekdays on N/A PC TF, DC has free rain to zerg from about 0600est to 1700est. They usually have a high or pop locked pop while the others are 1 or 2 bars.
And the first thing EP does when they logon is go for allesia, that's why dc keeps winning. The better EP guilds don't play the map, its just a grind for GO.
I really get annoyed with AD for doing the same thing. First target is sej even when dc have emp, our scrolls, and roe.

1, Ensure that realm populations are at least roughly equal, even during non-primetime hours. Preferably through implementing dynamic population caps (the least populated faction becomes the cap for the other two).

2, If you can not or do not want to limit players in this way, at the very least stop scoring ticks until some time after the populations become equal on their own. This will prevent one faction from dominating the score even tho they lose all keeps during the few hours of primetime when they face actual opposition.

3, Get rid of the second place! I cannot stress this enough. The whole concept of 3-way self-balancing where the two weaker factions join to oppose the strongest goes out of the window, because as soon as one faction pulls ahead (most likely due to nightcapping) the other two start fighting each other (we cannot be first anymore anyway, so lets get the second place instead!). So the nightcappers just sit by, laugh, and collect rewards with no work whatsoever.

4, If none of the above is viable for some reason, simply get rid of scoring altogether, and reward players at the end of the campaign based on their individual performance.

When ZoS starting allowing same-account, alternate faction characters to be in the same campaign. Now you see so many fair weather faction swappers and it completely ruins the whole reason for 3- faction AvA.

No penelty or reason to stay loyal to one faction. GG ZoS. And I don't see any way to fix it at this point.

Came to this thread for the salt. Was mildly disappointed. Was expecting much more salt. Guess I'll attempt to create some more. :naughty:

DC has faction pride? Lol I'm glad you know how to tell a funny.

EP never wins because EP is too busy being exclusive and elitist, or just plain yolo brain dead with groups. There is no in between on EP. That's why EP can't win. Because to be honest it's more fun to gank other DC and AD fools, then it is to play with the EP guilds. Too much toxicity towards new blood. So the new blood just says screw them learn how to gank. And just do what's going to put more AP in their pockets rather then what's best for the faction.

DC is known bandwagon for win faction. Any and all who are looking for easy wins just bandwagons on to DC. Thus adding to their already imposing numbers more so in SEA, and OCX timezones, while most of the NA players are fast asleep. To be proud of winning for having more numbers while your enemies are mostly asleep is also pretty funny.

AD well I'm not going to talk about AD. I disowned them in Cyrodiil in the 4th quarter of last year. After being told to *** off by most of the guilds. Now instead of being salty towards them. I finds much more enjoyment in ganking them and making them salty. And oh do I love the whispers about how much of a try hard or *** gear/CP carried ganker I am. BTW guys can you send me more after killing yall, my ego will love you more for it.

So all and all yes a lot of players in Cyrodiil really have nothing interesting to be gained from the score. So we just ignores it and do what nets us the most AP/Hour when we are in Cyrodiil. Sorry to say but I have other competitive games that I play. When I want to worry about competitive play. :sunglasses:

Okay guys and gals, enjoy and stay frosty.

ain't a dang thing wrong with rolling solo...unless of course it's because no one else will have ya...

Upon this a question arises: whether it be better to be loved than feared or feared than loved? It may be answered that one should wish to be both, but, because it is difficult to unite them in one person, is much safer to be feared than loved, when, of the two, either must be dispensed with.

Because this is to be asserted in general of men, that they are ungrateful, fickle, false, cowardly, covetous, and as long as you succeed they are yours entirely; they will offer you their blood, property, life and children, as is said above, when the need is far distant; but when it approaches they turn against you.

And that prince who, relying entirely on their promises, has neglected other precautions, is ruined; because friendships that are obtained by payments, and not by greatness or nobility of mind, may indeed be earned, but they are not secured, and in time of need cannot be relied upon; and men have less scruple in offending one who is beloved than one who is feared, for love is preserved by the link of obligation which, owing to the baseness of men, is broken at every opportunity for their advantage; but fear preserves you by a dread of punishment which never fails.

Im not sure if ppl understand - EP have 100 online and AD have 500 online, but both factions have "high population" status. Can EP win 1vs5?
These "population bars" do not mean anything unless we see the exact numbers online.
