I paid for a game, i paid for a premium subscription and they can't keep the game playable.

Server crash all the time, can they upgrade their server to make them more reliable ? yes !

Should they give me something to make me happy for their fault ? That's up to them and its call good customer services.

Extra ESO+ day added to my subscription ? Free crown ? Free Crates ? free exp scroll ? few gold via mail ? I wouldn't complaint.. but If that happen too many times i'll just play something else more reliable for my down time, compensation or not.

Nope, it will cause a mess later on where something is expected for every downtime.

This happened on EVE Online when they first gave some SP for downtime, now every outage someone will ask for free SP.

Nope, not required - It's a service maintenance and I for one don't feel a sense of outrageous entitlement that seems so prevelant amongst the communities in MMOs nowadays.

I don't believe they're obligated to give us anything. Yet I would never say no to getting a free XP scroll, a stack of tri-pots, some gold tempers, really anything useful.

If it's a silly cosmetic item, that's not a badass hat, you can keep it.

Most of the downtime, at least from this past weekend was due to a DDoS attack on the servers that was outside of ZOS control.

The servers got attacked, they came ridding it to fix the problem. As far as i can see, they did their jobs.

Simply put *bleep* happens, and people are trying to find any excuse to get free stuff.

Yes it sucks that server crashes and disconnects happen, but at least they're being fairly quick about fixing it. At one point I was on a game that let this sort of thing go on for almost 2 weeks, then decided to ROLLBACK those two weeks of work and play for everyone via a 3 day maintenance, while not refunding anything spent on the cashshop in that time either. (most games don't compensate for a little unexpected downtime in my experience) If I read correctly, ZoS was being DDoSed during this time, which isn't really something they can control, so blaming them and screaming for a cookie is making you sound more like a whiny child than an understanding adult. Yes it would be cool for them to 'compensate' us but we shouldn't be trying to pressure them about it when they have enough to deal with trying to get things working for us again as quickly as they can.

TL;DR - Let them focus on fixing things rather than figuring out a 'gift' for people.

Maybe some kind of in game item would be thoughtful, but I'm not begging.
But at least the game hasn't reached the level of garbage that Skyrim was for ps3 on launch. If you played a char for a substantial period of time the game would lag till it crashed. The game was literally unplayable. That's why I bought the pc version a few weeks later.

Being hit by DDos attacks may be beyond their control but being crippled by them isn't.

Yup.

I went off and did something else. I am not even sure how many times it was down, or for how long. It certainly wasn't for the entire weekend because I was on doing my thing Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

It is not like I was trapped at my computer until the servers got fixed.
