@ZOS_GinaBruno can you not just empower the community with a "Weekend event" ask someone for a duel if they do not decline it or walk away then it starts the duel and we can kill them and ruin thier botting goodness. Each kill we make lands a prize?

Whenever I get a random request to duel, I don't decline nor run away, but I will turn to the person that made the request and just stare at them.

Erm.. bots will not walk away... nor will they refuse a duel... they will simply ignore everything (because they are bots). The only people who actually will refuse to duel / walk away will be the "real one" :#

So you achieved everything except the thing you were trying to do... ;)

Duel refusal is automatic. I got challenged to a duel every 4 seconds in places like Rawl'kha and Wayrest. Manually refusing them got tiring so I set to auto-decline. So bots will auto-decline duels just like real players who come into town to vend and bank and decon and don't want to put up with manually declining duel requests every 2 seconds.

Bots have no need to be in town. Simple solution. Remove auto decline outside of townships for a weekend. It'll be chaos still but it'll get rid of some of them.

We do care very much. @Robisok74, could you report the players you're seeing, please? You can find instructions for each platform in this post. Thank you!

I'm glad to hear you say this. But I would suggest to you that a significant portion of your players are not going to believe that ZOS actually cares about botting until ZOS does something about the most common sightings of bots: Dolmen drones. As long as there are still people auto-attacking at dolmens 24/7 (regardless of how often they're reported), you're going to have a hard time convincing the players that you really think bots are a problem.

I used to be be very diligent reporting bots. Spent a lot of time making sure they were indeed bots, observing their behavior so I could make a detailed report to help ZOS staff take action quicker and easier. But when I returned to an area where I had reported a bot and still see it a week, two weeks and even a month later, I had to ask myself why am I wasting my time. Add the fact that even if the bot disappeared, was it my or someone else's report that made a difference? I still see them from time to time but I'm done reporting. My experience tells me that removing bots are not a very high priority for ZOS. I'm sure they care...but relative to what?

It's the uncertainty that our actions have any positive effect that should be rectified.

People generally simply do not continue to put effort into something that doesn't give any feedback. Zeni is a black hole into which we expend effort to reporting bots, but from which we receive zero indication that our effort was worth 2 pixels.

Our pets (the real ones - dogs / cats / parrots / etc) will sit, stay, and so on for treats and positive feedback but do eventually stop if we withhold all feedback entirely. Zeni withholds all feedback from us entirely, which only harms their own efforts at cleaning the game of disruptive abusing people because they lose us as partners.

No, no, no and no. I don't want to be dueled just because I went on a short bio break while standing in a city or somewhere in the wilderness. Duels around merchants and banks are annoying enough already, there's no reason to let PVP griefers disrupt PvE players even more.

The trouble is Gina that a lot of people do report them and then see them still around days and weeks later. ZOS just doesn't seem to be following up on these, at least not as quickly as the last time the bot plague hit us at launch.

Exactly. Most of my pee breaks happen when I'm out in the wilderness. Something about the trees maybe. Plus, I've had morons test to see if I'm a bot already before, while I'm standing motionless at a dolmen waiting for a spawn. Some of us don't run around like we have ants in our pants between spawns. I like to just stand, and let my violence simmer as I wait to release it. (And sometimes, pee)

I'm going to report them when it's convenient.

We should all figure out how to get dolmen mobs to aggro / attack the drone-bots at the dolmens. Maybe getting them killed over and over will help the situation (or at least give us some sense of satisfaction).

Someone mentioned pulling back once the battle starts so the monsters aggro the bots. Will that work?

I think if you pulled the big boss at the end of the fight away from the dolmen, out of their target spot, then circled behind the group and ran out of range, the boss on its way back would attack them if his pathing took him past them.

No it won't. They'll be disrupted for the weekend then they'll be back. This is not a permanent solution nor is it viable even in the short term in my opinion.

Identifying, targeting and removing bots is not players responsibility. If they place this on players I am sure the outcome will not be favorable

No its not. Just an idea that I thought of whilst waiting for office pro 365 to install. Everyday there are post over bots and it seems to be taking somewhat of an issue to the larger community and zos isn't doing jack (contrary to today's post ) regardless of the above nerd rage the impact to legit players would be minute at most. I don't personally care too much to be honest it was just an idea. I'd actually just like a community event outside of weeklies that are getting dull and repetitive. The pvp event atm isn't an event for us per say it's us doing zos a favour and dlc events aren't community based it's a free for all over nodes and soul shriven skins. New thread needed.

By no means am I coming down on you for this and I apologize if I came across that way. Quite the opposite, it is probably the most creative idea I have ever heard from our community. We need out of the box thinkers like you. I would just caution it in this particular situation as it blurs lines a bit.
