Was basically a tie with Hundings. But I prefer a more temperate climate as opposed to scorching desert. That was the clincher.

I love all the houses but Forsaken Stronghold and Hundings pretty much tie top for me followed by Old Mistveil and Mathiiesen and Quondam and Strident, all in second place. The rest all take third place. There is something to love about all the houses.

    Strident Springs.

Love the outdoor space and the waterfall. Doesn't feel claustrophobic either. The inside might be a little small, but I love the layout with the separate rooms. Made it super easy to decorate.

Second place is Hundings. Love everything except the rear balcony thing (feels so out of place). Also not a fan of the totally arid exterior which means no room for a lush garden (with Strident Springs, you can create a Mediterranean/California-style garden).

    Gardner House (DC - Wayrest)
For me it was a toss-up between Gardner House and Mistveil Manor. I spent a lot of time in all the large homes before deciding. I liked all of the following but ended up not choosing them for various reasons:

Forsaken Stronghold has a lot of space but just too much stone; it feels cold and impersonal. Stident Springs has a nice exterior but has a terrible interior layout and is way too dark inside. Dawnshadow was a no because Khajit architecture is too stylized for me and the wood on their buildings look like they have black mold. I hate deserts so Hundings Palatial was off the list, just too much sand everywhere. Mistveil Manor I ultimately felt was too rustic for my character even though I really liked the place and the location.

I ended up going with Gardner House because I felt it had the best interior layout and most usable space of all the large homes. The courtyard isn't huge but I made it work by lining it with trees and dreamshards and installing a fountain--it looks like a walled secret garden now. :) It's right in the middle of Wayrest too, so I'm never porting anywhere to do business, I just walk outside one of my three doors and there everything is.

Almost all of the Large houses are really nice and, if fact, many are nicer than the fantastically expensive three Notable homes. Sadly, they are all gimped by the too small twelve player cap, the same as the Medium sized homes. This makes no sense as they are all nearly as large as the Notable homes and it feels like this player cap was set in order to punish players for not being willing to shell out for one of the far more expensive twenty-four player cap homes they may not even want to begin with.

I can't choose between Mistvail Manor and Forsaken Stronghold. That's why I haven't gotten either yet!

I have always liked both Rift and Bangorai as zones, and both houses have some advantages. Mistvail is both cozy and spacious enough, feels like a potentially luxurious log cabin. Forsaken Stronghold is majestic, with careful furnishing and decorations it could look both imposing and beautiful.

Originally I wanted to get Gardner House, but the outside is just too small for my liking. Maybe if it had a balcony.

I haven't bought one yet, but I love the stronghold. I can't decide if I want to spend the money or not. I've been thinking of just getting Mournoth keep until some new houses come out. I really want to be located in a remote region with a stronghold/keep/castle/base type of dwelling. Here's hoping to more craglorn and wrothgar homes.

Gardner house is a good place to display all my achievements, but space run out quickly for my other creative room ideas, just a bit too small for a large home.
