I want my Argonian Treeminder >:(
Sorry but I think it adds some much needed diversity to the game by having classes with unique themes and playstyles.
You can dps, tank, or heal on any class and can easily swap roles with gear and enough skill points.

yea you are right.......still think we would have diversity if they were world skills instead.

I have to disagree. Inevitably, when everyone has access to all the same abilities and skills, a very small selection are actually used. Everyone ends up running with the same exact setup at endgame because of the prevalence of minmax builds.

Well to me that's no different than someone having 12 different characters ready to go at a moments notice. Its like if Night blades are buffed..........and temps are nerfed......then they would just switch characters......
In my perspective, just having 1 character be a sorc........or a night blade......or a temp......or a warden is ok.......
WHATS NOT ok is being a sorc and a templar at the same time. I really want in game class change like other MMO's have it. I feel this would give us a more genuine Elder Scrolls Experience.

If there was class change, everyone would just swap to whatever the flavor of the month class is anyways, and wouldn't have to put in time for multiple characters.
Thealteregoroman wrote: »Not being able to be any class you want..........
I primarily like to play a healer in an MMO.......I like the Elder Scrolls series and the freedom it allows you........
I think having like 12 or 8 toons in my opinion to do the other class stuff abilities is what's really killing me here. I want to be a healer and if I want to damage deal why can't I have sorc abilities too or summon pets to fight? There are MMO's out there that allows you to create a character and "switch jobs" at will......I think that would have felt closer to an Elder Scrolls experience than what we have now.......
If they gave us world skill lines that expanded the 5 classes we had now I think that would help tremendously......
I tried to play my sorc character and all I could think about while playing is ALL THAT achievements and thieves guild and dark brotherhood skill lines I maxed out AND all the bag storage and horse training I bought and time I put into my healer character, skyshards and all. I was put off by it and went back from changing the healer class to A "master crafter."
The warden sounds like something I would have picked the first time before picking a templar.
It would have been nice to have the 3 Warden classes as a World skill line instead of making a new character..........
I am not on it alot and I know most people will say it doesn't take that long to level up a character.......I am not talking about leveling up.....I am talking about it not feeling like elderscrolls.
Anyways what do you guys think? Would you have wanted the WARDEN CLASS to be a World skill line?

I guess for me time is a convenience I don't have.......its prob why ZOS is making so much money off of me.....

I'm pretty sure you can use any class to fill any role if your skill and build allows you too. Alter what you need changing and you're good to go.
Just be sure to be rich because respec'ing can get expensive lol
mesmerizedish wrote: »Yeah, any class can competently perform any role. A sorcerer tank is probably not gonna be invited to veteran trial runs, but uh... neither am I, and I main a dragon knight tank. The game is already far more flexible than any MMO I've ever played. That's a good thing, but letting characters change classes defeats the whole purpose of having classes to begin with. I'd sooner see them get rid of classes entirely.

I want to be able to "switch jobs" as a temp, dragon knight, nightblade or sorc. I don't want to have to create 4 characters. I feel like they did it this way to force you to buy convenience items.
I DO NOT want to mix skills between the classes.......just switch classes.......

So your characters aren't actually characters, they're just tools you use to interface with the game. That's... fine, but allowing class switching would be disruptive to people who don't play the game that way.
A far better solution would be making more stuff account-wide, like achievements.

Hahah what? So you're saying it's better when people are forced to play what they don't enjoy playing? As if it was their fault that their class is underpowered and no one takes it to serious trial runs, for example?

You say you want to be able to "switch jobs" - well, good news, you can, and it doesn't require a class change. Templars aren't the only healers, Sorcs aren't the only spellcasters, dragonknights aren't the only tanks, and nightblades aren't the only assassins. Every class can fill every role. At most, all you need to do is visit the respec shrine.
There is absolutely no need for either a class change option or for you to have one of every class in order to play any role you want. It all comes down to build and gear.
