Not being able to be any class you want..........

I primarily like to play a healer in an MMO.......I like the Elder Scrolls series and the freedom it allows you........

I think having like 12 or 8 toons in my opinion to do the other class stuff abilities is what's really killing me here. I want to be a healer and if I want to damage deal why can't I have sorc abilities too or summon pets to fight? There are MMO's out there that allows you to create a character and "switch jobs" at will......I think that would have felt closer to an Elder Scrolls experience than what we have now.......

If they gave us world skill lines that expanded the 5 classes we had now I think that would help tremendously......

I tried to play my sorc character and all I could think about while playing is ALL THAT achievements and thieves guild and dark brotherhood skill lines I maxed out AND all the bag storage and horse training I bought and time I put into my healer character, skyshards and all. I was put off by it and went back from changing the healer class to A "master crafter."

The warden sounds like something I would have picked the first time before picking a templar.

It would have been nice to have the 3 Warden classes as a World skill line instead of making a new character..........

I am not on it alot and I know most people will say it doesn't take that long to level up a character.......I am not talking about leveling up.....I am talking about it not feeling like elderscrolls.

Anyways what do you guys think? Would you have wanted the WARDEN CLASS to be a World skill line?

Sorry but I think it adds some much needed diversity to the game by having classes with unique themes and playstyles.

You can dps, tank, or heal on any class and can easily swap roles with gear and enough skill points.

I have to disagree. Inevitably, when everyone has access to all the same abilities and skills, a very small selection are actually used. Everyone ends up running with the same exact setup at endgame because of the prevalence of minmax builds.

Well to me that's no different than someone having 12 different characters ready to go at a moments notice. Its like if Night blades are buffed..........and temps are nerfed......then they would just switch characters......

    In my perspective, just having 1 character be a sorc........or a night blade......or a temp......or a warden is ok.......

WHATS NOT ok is being a sorc and a templar at the same time. I really want in game class change like other MMO's have it. I feel this would give us a more genuine Elder Scrolls Experience.

I am going to have to disagree with you on this concept of muliti classing, not that many mmorpgs do it what they do have is more class choices and hybird classes, anyways cross classing takes allot of balance working as it is, it does not always work out well.

Yeah, any class can competently perform any role. A sorcerer tank is probably not gonna be invited to veteran trial runs, but uh... neither am I, and I main a dragon knight tank. The game is already far more flexible than any MMO I've ever played. That's a good thing, but letting characters change classes defeats the whole purpose of having classes to begin with. I'd sooner see them get rid of classes entirely.

So your characters aren't actually characters, they're just tools you use to interface with the game. That's... fine, but allowing class switching would be disruptive to people who don't play the game that way.

A far better solution would be making more stuff account-wide, like achievements.

No, the thing is, classes are not roles, or "jobs" here. Roles (or as you called it, "jobs") are: tank, dd and healer. With any of the 4 classes, you can still fill in any role if want.

    @Thealteregoroman

First, why are you not doing DPS on your Templar. They do great. Then you could dps and heal on the same character and merely change what you need to change, gear, skills and CP.

As for "other MMOs" that allow you to be anything and everything as you mention, what major MMO that is currently active are you speaking of? None. none at all.

As for feeling like a traditional TES game, much works well in single player that is a down right bad idea for an MMO and your suggestion falls into that.

EDIT: no, Warden class should not be a world skill line. heck, it has 3 skill lines and passives. It is clearly best suited for being it's own.

That other MMO is FFXIV. It is also doing extremely well.

I want 1 character and be able to switch classes. I DO NOT want to mix the classes together. You can't do that in FFXIV and that is NOT what I am suggesting. Just tired of seeing same animations I guess.
