Would you make all the other players invisible?

I think the surface world is fine as is, but I'd prefer quest locations to be instanced (or at least have a toggle option to make them instanced). Immersion is hard enough as it is without having a half a dozen random people all fighting the same quest boss and killing him in 3 seconds.

IF this would deactivate resource nodes, and IF it was something you had to toggle on, I wouldn't be against it. But a lot of people like questing with others and grouping together to kill a big baddie.

No because that would mean that I would be invisible and I do not spend hours at a dye station to be invisible :)

Yeah, I'm not one to tell people how to play the game. More options should cater to more playstyles, I'd think. Nodes wouldn't have to be deactivated if they were given a much longer respawn rate (or no respawn at all) while in an instance.

Why do you care if someone doesn't want to see other players? It does not affect you in any way.

    @Vipstaakki

Actually it affects everyone. The server set up shares resources, quest interactions, NPCs, nodes, etc. Being set away is essentially asking for your own instance. That's a completely different server phase.

It open the game up to unintended behaviors and interactions

I want to make their experience as miserable as possible because they shouldn't be playing the Elder Scrolls online if they're playing it as if they should be able to forget it's online.
Difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 11 years. 8 paid expansions. 29 dungeon and zone DLCs. 45 game changing updates including A Realm Reborn-tier overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. Just because Cadwell Silver&Gold failed doesn't mean the game should be brain dead easy forever.

"ESO doesn't need a harder overland" on YouTube for a video of a naked level 3 character w/ no CP allocated AFKing in front of a bear for a minute and a half before dying if you don't believe me change is needed.

Well it wouldn't, as invisible or not, it would still be multiplayer.

The only players I'd like to make invisible are the bots (or make them killable) and the ones who insist on dueling right by the wayshrine I'm about to use. Otherwise, I would get no help when I need it, nor could I offer help when it looks like someone else might need it.

Someone getting murdered don't effect me either but I still think its crap. And if 1,000s of people used this option it would not only effect me it would begin to effect the entire game.

I normally don't care how someone would want to play, but in this case it would increase the likelihood other players would interfere with your gameplay, e.g. stealing your treasure chests and nodes while fighting a monster.

I don't mind if it's an OPTION that can be turned on or off. I wouldn't want it forced on me, though.
    Barkel wrote: »
What would be even less immersive is a bunch of mobs fighting thin air, or people being assassinated out of nowhere. Also you wont know if someones about to harvest or open a chest, so you might spot something and it disappears just before you reach it. So really it wouldn't work unfortunately.

Yep. That's the biggest problem with it, right there. I don't know why anyone would want to play that way, myself.

Most areas are public. It would be weird seeing monsters fight thin air and die for no reason.

I'll have you know, ESO is the embodiment of RNG. Farming COA or MSA isn't fun. Anyway, poking at your typo aside, are you really ignorant enough to tell people to go play an RPG over an MMO>RPG<?

ESO would make for a very poor single player game if they did that.

The game is designed around MMO mechanics. If they did that, they're pretty much throwing the towel in for the point of the game (grouping) and we should all just go back to modded TES games.

What you said was actually a very good point two wanting more of a MMO then a straight single player game. Even though I would want more of a single player experience I agree with you.
I'm glad you made a good point and not just said the normal "go play Skyrim"
    Thank You.

I'd love to not have to look some of the stupidity in ESO - it would be great to make all the people jumping around in Reaper's March, constantly spamming HS or Mutagen, mines, steel tornado or whatever really annoying animation or lightshow they can manage to think of that day, invisible.

Nope, and I play mostly solo myself. The only reason I'd accept that is if it was guaranteed to fix latency issues, and even then I wouldn't really want to have to do that. But having toons that represent real life players at the other end of the keyboard/controller brings a lot of life to this game, and I thought that was one of the biggest appeals for an MMORPG.

I tried found a home Final Fantasy 14. You have to play with other characters in order to get through that story dungeons intern order to get through that you have to build your character perfectly for your class or other players get pissed off and kick you.

I've never played Final Fantasy 14 but people say the same in ESO - according to some people, including what sometimes seems like the majority of this forum, you shouldn't even consider doing dungeons, even in normal mode, unless you're CP160 (or even better CP500+ with CP160 gear) and you've got the current flavour of the month build.

But there's plenty of people who don't adhere to that. My guild insisted I'd be fine joining them for a dungeon at level 14, and that was before One Tamriel. I've done them periodically since with guild members or other low level players recruited in chat and you certainly don't need a 'perfect' build and there are plenty of people out there who don't care what you use. You just can't count on the Group Finder to find them because it just throws everyone together randomly.

Coming from FF14, this is pretty much true. I never kicked a newbie as long as he was trying and open to suggestions on his class. FF14 has a friendly community that's pretty open to newcomers.

ESO is very similar, minus the fact you don't need to team up to complete the main story.

I play either with my RL brother or the occasional guildy, but most of the time I solo

But I would really miss it if other's weren't there, just because I don't interact with peeps doesn't mean I don't want them there and would really miss all these "real" peeps running around doing their own thing

Well, since all the loot in instanced dungeons is BoP the public dungeons and dolmens are on constant farm status by ppl trying to make a buck. Public dungeons feel more like a shopping mall these days.
