Zones Effecting Furniture Race Drops?

I'm starting to notice something a little bit odd, and I'm wondering if anyone else noticed it. Or perhaps could explain it for me.

For my hunt for High Elf blueprints/plans, I've decided to focus on poking around Auridon and Reaper's March. Since the update has gone live, I've gotten maybe 1 or 2 high elf plans. With the vast majority of the rest being Khajiit and Dark Elf. With the remaining being either race-less or Orc. Why is this? Isn't Auridon supposed to yield the most likely chance to receive Altmer furniture plans?

I'd heard it was supposed to work that way - or at least that you would get more plans related to the Alliance (so Auridon would give more high elf, wood elf and khajiit plans), but it doesn't seem to be working like that.

I've been doing 90% of my searching on the two ships in Daggerfall harbour and I've gotten about as many high elf, dark elf, khajiit, nord etc. plans as breton or orc or redguard.

It seems to be slightly skewed by alliance: I spent a couple weeks farming in Auridon and Khenarthi's Roost, and I do have about 50% more AD-themed plans than the other two alliances.

Then again, I've spent the last three days farming Mournhold, and I've only found one Dark Elf plan out of over a dozen, so maybe it is just RNG. :p

Nephikah the Houseless, dunmer assassin: "If circumstances try to drive me there, maybe. Right now, it just sounds like a lot of sand in my boots."
Swum-Many-Waters, elderly argonian healer: "The simple thought of it dries my scales. I ventured into Elsweyr long ago, but I may be getting too old to make the journey again."
Silh'ki, khajiit warrior-chef: "This one looks forward to seeing her home sands again. Perhaps she will make her home village many fish sticks!"
Peregrine Huntress, bosmer hunter: "I could do much with a good dragon hide."
Lorenyawe, altmer mechanist: "I see little need to muck about some ancient tomb. Too much work to do elsewhere. No, that was not an intentional pun."
Lorelai Magpie, breton thief: "Stealing from the Ban Daar is always a fun challenge. Sometimes, they steal their stuff back!"
Rasheda the Burning Heart, redguard knight: "While I try to stay at Swum-Many-Waters' side, the whispers of an undead threat worry me."
Hex-Eye Azabi, khajiit daedric priestess: "Perhaps. The lady Mephala spins many webs, and I can see there being benefit in sending me into the path of an undead invasion."
Yngva Stormhammer, nord bandit (reformed...ish): "I hear there will be dragons. I would be a disappointment to my Nord heritage if I did not try to slay them."
Madam Argentia, dunmer aristocrat: "I have little desire to waltz across the desert for weeks at a time. It's terrible for the complexion."
Mazie gra-Bolga, orc scout: "Uh... I'm kinda busy up in Wrothgar, sorry!"
Felicia the Wanderer, imperial witch-for-hire: "The Khajiit usually throw some nice contracts my way. I'm sure Jimila will have something that will take me there."
Calico Jaka-dra, retired khajiit pirate: "This one is happy to check back on her homeland after grand adventures drew her away! Let the kittens call her -dra instead of -daro now!"
Shimmerbeam, blind altmer psijic: "My lady Meridia does detest the undead. I may need to sneak out on my duties on Artaeum to address it."

Lmao! That's so weird. I'm farming an AD zone, and getting tons of Dark Elf stuff. Meanwhile you're in an EP zone, and things are reversed. :D I'm starting to believe it's all RNG in actuality as well, and ZOS just joking about certain zones being more likely to drop things for its native race. Either that, or there's a crap ton more Darin Elf and Khajiit furniture plans than anything else.

It was stated it was "suppose" to work that way, but in my experience it doesn't work like that what so ever. I have characters all over the place. Auridon, Wrothgar, Reaper's, Rivenspire, Bangrokai and they all get the same time of drops. For me, it's mostly Orc stuff, followed by Redguard, Breton, Wood Elf, High Elf, Khajit then Nord and Dark Elf.

It has made absolutely no difference which zone I am stealing from or which character I'm on.

It is purely RNG based, which is something that ZOS really, really, really needs to start getting away from.
I love designing my homes, but am really hating the RNG for EVERYTHING that comes with it. I had been hoping I wouldn't have as much of an issue with getting stuff where my main goal of this whole thing would be to save up in game gold to buy the next biggest home so I can design that one as well, and eventually own them all after a couple of years, but it is far too clear that ZOS has put in the RNG issue to force players to the crown store for microtransactions.
Far too many characters to list any more.

I've been farming Sanguine's Demesne trying to get Argonian-related blueprints, but I've been getting a whole lot of stuff for non-EP racees. High elf shelf, Orc carpet, a Khajiit vase, a Breton rocking chair, and some other stuff. Hardly anything related to the alliance, nevermind the zone itself.

I also have been after altmer plans, and staying in Auridon mostly. I definitely have more Altmer plans than other races...

I can confirm it's not at all aligned by region/zone to race furniture plans on Xbox One NA as of 2/22/17.

I'm looking for Redguard items in Alikir, Bankorai, Stros Mkai

I've not found one but I found two Orc recipes in Shadownfen doing a few quests to finish the zone Wednesday. Shrug

That is a tiny, tiny sample size... not really enough to confirm anything.

I just checked my spreadsheet, and here's what I have after two weeks of using a primarily Auridon-Khenarthi's Roost route:

    Total plans: 124

    Generic / non-racial: 33
    Argonian: 5
    Breton: 12
    Dark Elf: 6
    High Elf: 11
    Khajiit: 12
    Nord: 12
    Orc: 11
    Redguard: 7
    Wood Elf: 15

So in an AD area, that's 26.6% generic plans, 30.6% AD, 18.5% Pact, and 24.2% DC plans.

So.... yeah. It's a very slight advantage toward plans being area-based... though that's not considering that my most common are Wood Elf, when I was specifically farming High Elf and Khajiit areas.

The point is, the margin's close enough that I'm going to agree with everyone else that it's entirely random.

I'm definitely noticing there being things more randomized than specific. Sigh. I can tell this is going to be a long grind in my quest for High Elf beauty.
