French? German? Even brazilian portuguese has more public then that lol. Jokes apart, I really agree spanish should be supported.

I don't find any difficulty in understanding the game, besides some archaic words, but I have a lot of friends that like the game but are not so good in english. Some of them dropped it out of frustration because of it. I agree with OP. The game needs more languages. That will also lead to a bigger playerbase and higher revenues. I am fairly certain the population will have a significant increase if it goes through, and it is only a good thing for the game.
Spanish is the second most common language in the world only just behind Chinese . English is 3rd most common . From a business perspective , that's missing the mark for a large audience for not including Spanish .
The business perpective is precisely the reason why those languages aren't available.
From a business perspective, all potential customers are not equal. Raw population numbers are crossed with their respective purchasing power. There's no point translating a game for a category of population that will not be able to purchase the game. Chinese-speaking and Spanish-speaking regions are overall poorer than English, French, Japanese or German-speaking countries/areas. Which is why the game isn't available in Spanish, Chinese or Russian, even though there are huge populations using those languages. I'm not saying this is fair or anything, just that this is a fact.
While I agree that knowing english will open many doors, it's funny how many native english speakers encourage others to learn their language only because they're too lazy to do the same. And get pissy because they cannot understand a thing when other people talk to eachother.
This happened on a pledge last week, where three of us were spanish speakers and got via group finder a US citizen, he stated that he doesn't speak spanish because he's "a true american" and we must speak english instead. We started to make fun of him until he leave.
Why would a native English speaker need to learn a second langauge to play a game that is already in English? That is a bad example, it's not like he moved to Hong Kong and then complained that everything was in Cantonese.
This post is going on a wrong direction, we aren't talking about lazy people or people that don't want to learn another language... I just would like to play TESO in spanish at xbox one. I think every language is different than the others but not better or worse.
I haven't problem of playing in english, but from my view point, the best experience, come from playing in my mother tongue / main language.

Yes you're right, it was not my intention to create controversy, I was just pointing out something that happened last week regarding to language, and comments on similar threads that I have read in many places.
The reason of why I'm having a lot more fun in this game is because I joined a couple of Latin American guilds, I have no problem with playing in english either, but no all people have the same level of knowledge or the education opportunities to fully enjoy the game.

Im a born and raised Swede who moved to the United States alone when I was 19. I picked up the English language really easy when I was little by watching a lot of American movies, reading books and playing games.
But yes I do agree there should be an option for Spanish subtitles atleast. Voice-over may be a little bit harder to cover + it's quite expensive. But the game has been out for so long now that I don't think ZOS really cares.
ESO doesn't have a Spanish version on any platform.Serjustin19 wrote: »don't think your on PS4. Unsure about Spanish. But if you did had PS4, good chance you still can play eso in Spanish. Only reason I know we can play eso in different language on PS4. Is because I was self teaching myself French for awhile. But via the PS4 console itself, there is an option for changing games language.
I played Assassin's Creed Black Flag and Elder Scrolls Online in French for while, do to me self teaching myself. Really fun but kinda awkward since I'm Native English (United States) speaking. I believe there is an option for Spanish to, via the PS4. I wonder tis why ZOS not implemented in all platforms save for some, for respective languages in game. But I'm only aware that PS4 has this option. But i don't think you have PS4.

The way it works on PS4, the game's default language often depends on the console's language. Some games allow you to make additional modifications within the game itself, but others don't. I assume ESO is the latter case. Either way, every game has a different number of available languages - you can't "trick" ESO into displaying a Spanish version that it doesn't offer in the first place.
