What happened to world bosses?

Myself and my wife have started new characters after a year long break. Decided to run through auridon and the first world boss we encounter wipes us out.
We used to be able to handle all the non dungeon content by ourselves and now all of a sudden world bosses have nearly 2 million health.
We rarely are able to get ppl to join us for dungeon runs, never mind dragging everyone around the map for world bosses. How can we complete the zone if we cant beat these bosses?

    Once the One Tamriel update was made, all World bosses became actual threats instead of pushovers. They got buffed up to the levels that the world bosses in Wrothgar, Hew's Bane and Gold Coast have.

    They buffed them to be more of a challenge because they were kind of lame before that, they also now drop sets which are worth killing them for.

    Try asking in zone chat for help, or look at joining a guild of helpful people who can give you a hand. If you're at max level with good builds/gear some of these can still be done solo as well.

    Type in zone chat "need help at ... World boss". Generally it helps. At least in pc/eu server. Or you can ask help from your guildmates.

    But solo is almost impossible except a few boss. Most bosses have too many CC.

    It is still possible to kill the world bosses with 2 or 3 people (if healer, solo is sometimes possible). It's a bit difficult though. Also normally whenever I go to a worldboss, there are always players around (Auridon too), I guess it depends on what time you're playing.

    Just see it as a challenge :smile:

    The world bosses stole millions of gallons of spinach, and ate it all. They're now twice as strong and have more HP.

    They got tired of being pushovers, and decided to fight back with vengeance .

    1T buffed the bosses so that they were more of a challenge. Khajiit would like to apologise on behalf of ZOS for any soul gems the change may have cost you.

    Use the zone chat to ask for help. This one knows people, especially lower levels will assist.

    World boss difficulty varies now, some can be duo'd, or even solo'd if handled right, but others, particularly ones in DLC zones, may need several to take a world boss down.

    On the other hand, the normal group dungeons seem easier now than they did a long time ago. A lot of the normal mode version one dungeons can be solo'd fairly easily with enough self-healing and aoe abilities.

    World bosses that are out of the way attract not much attention, if youre alone at one its best to ask for help at that boss ocer zone chat and people may come. Zos just wanted them to be legit group content.

    With the One Tamriel update they did a pass over all zones content and kind of balanced it a little especially the itemisation and placement of gear.

    You'll see some zone (Stonefalls) are very popular for boss/dolmens because of the sets dropping there, where's others are not so popular.

    There is the advantage now that all factions share zones, so you should have more people around to help with bosses.

    There are still some very easy ones. The large flesh thing in Grahwood being the most obvious one. The flip side of the coin, one of the most difficult ones is a stupid Guar. Maybe he's just pissed that one of his mates were included in the Crown Crates, I dunno.

    Another boss I really hate is Valewatch Tower in Rivenspire.... that boss was actually hard before OT as well.

    Well the thing is - you don't have to bring people, if it's implemented as important core concept of the game, people will amass there naturally.

    Before ESO i played Defiance, it was actually very similar to the structure of ESO in terms of how servers handle (2 megaservers - no instances except for group dungeons or PvP maps). The world has your regular run of the mill content - exploration, quests etc etc and they have dynamic events that will appear on random locations of the world, marking the location where it's happening (usually the area is huge and consists of multiple encounters) and showing up notifications X minutes before the event happens.
    And before you even got to fast-travel to the nearby location - hundreds of people would already be there, anticipating and waiting where the arcs will drop. You didn't need to shout out for anyone, you didn't have to form a group - people automatically knew what to do and where to go, as it was explained, well detailed in the tutorial and made a important part of the base game. It also entailed scoring based on how well you did, competitive leaderboards and prizes according to how well you did and what was your position on the leaderboard. (Oh yeah and lowbies were scaled up to max level during those events if they didn't match the required level).
    It worked well, it was executed well in my opinion. Sure as anything it had it's glitches - mobs getting stuck in walls/floors preventing completetion etc, but i have seen that in nearly any game, MMO or otherwise.

    But the point is - group orientated things don't necessarily mean you need to FORM a group to complete, it just needs to have a good incentive and reward for everyone participating in it, and of course - fun factor, those events in Defiance were fun as heck - having hundreds of people blasting 50ft mutants to high heaven, projectiles and explosions everywhere (And NO performance problems whatsoever ping or FPS wise). If the incentive is there and it is well explained, people will naturally rush to do those things as they know it's something fun and worth doing.

    Look at the brackets. Some are solo-able and definitely do-able for two

    Those with the intense brackets are ideal for 5 or more

    They're not required to complete a zone, you can always improve and quest on till your char is strong enough and you have gained enough friends/ joined guilds to form a small group and beat the boss.

    I don't know what platform or server you play on, but in PC/EU it helps just writing in zonechat and asking for help.... or just notifying people that the boss is up, so others who might miss that boss will hurry and get to the place.

    Somewhat related question, does the two public dungeons in Wrothgar have an hard boss who give a skill point? like the other zones.
    I have not found them, just 2 bosses with two dots who was soloable.
    Grinding just make you go in circles.
    Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

    After 1t dropped I was still happily soloing all the world bosses I ran across, even the ones some people thought were too hard. Then I ran across this guy and his adds...

    They got buffed. Wasn't that obvious? ;)

    Yeah, with One Tamriel, the old world bosses got a good power boost and went from public dungeon boss power (aka, balanced for two people) to full dungeon boss power (aka, balanced for more like four people including the usual dungeon trinity) - they are not -quite- at Wrothgar world boss difficulty though, I would say... but in any case are mostly not really soloable anymore (a few are if you are good enough, but... its iffy)
    On the bright side, they now drop stuff that actually makes them worth taking down, so you usualyl can find some peeps happy to tag along for a little boss bashing.

    Personally I think they are way more fun now, I just wish all the normal regions also had a "world boss" related daily quest like Orsinium or the other DLCs...

    If my memory serves right they do have group event like the others which gives skill point. Old Orsinium had the one in the room where the floor is on fire. Rkindaleft was the room where the centurion was if I remember right.

    Have them drop Gold Jewelry. Then watch the servers crash when they're up.

    i feel your pain. i too was used to being able to solo world bosses. came back after a long break and got my butt handed to me-haha! i am now more respectful of world bosses ;)

    For the ones that are near Domens it is pretty easy to get part of that huge crowd to come over and help.

    One of my guilds does a weekly event where we tackle the world bosses of each zone. We travel 8-12 deep and knock them out in an hour or so, hit some public dungeons, make and evening of it. Breaks up the grind of daily undaunted and all that, I highly recommend it to any PVE guild. I will finally get Craglorn complete, the struggle up there is real without a group.
