Dungeon Difficulty

Hi all

I am a new player and play with 3 friends. We are doing random normal dungeons and are about lvl 18.
We have blue/purple gear and aren't total noobs to mmos and roles. We run with TempHeal DKTank DKDPS SorcDPS. We have zero difficulty doing BC I, FG I, SC I.
When we are qued for BC II or even WGT however we have no real chance of completing it. The thrash mobs are usually np but the bosses barely take dmg and fights drag on with us eventually wiping over and over.
Long story short, what are we doing wrong?

Thanks!

I'm not 100% sure on this as I wasn't around for the One Tamriel launch and haven't read up on dungeon changes since.

In the past the II versions of dungeons were what was called Veteran Dungeons and these were made and balanced around level 50 VR/CP ranked characters. Some of them (like WGT) were also later additions and have harder mechanics/monsters.

It could just be you need to level your characters up and gain some Champion Point ranks in order to clear these easier, it could also be mechanics vs some bosses you're not aware of.

Sorry I can't be much more help.

Hello, all non DLC dungeons including BC II are quite easy on normal difficulty, well City of Ash II and Darkshade Caverns II can be challenging on some bosses, but its still perfectly doable even with new characters.
DLC dungeons on the other hand are quite difficult even on normal difficulty so I would not attempt those unless you got a very good idea of what to do there.

You will have to be more specific in what exactly is going wrong there:
    - are you being overwhelmed by adds?
    - is tank getting one-shotted or dropping too fast?
    - are people getting killed by boss mechanics?
    - healer is not able to keep up with the damage?
    - healer is running out of mana?
    - something else?

Normal dungeons should be just faceroll so I am guessing there must be mutiple things wrong
    - Is it possible that you are using blue / purple gear of lower level than what your current level is? Your character stats are scaled based on your character level and gear level
    - Perhaps your dps and healer are running very sub-optimal build? Meaning lot of CC skills won't help you much in dungeons, killing stuff fast is better than CCing it for 2 minutes. What is your healer doing? I mean lot of people say templar is great for healing, but I am personally a sorcerer healer and when I see other templars healing it feels to me very unreliable sometimes when people move a lot and step out of their HoTs (not that Resto staff heals are any better at this, I personally use a sorc healing pet a lot to heal 1-2 people and leave resto-staff heals only when whole group is stacked and taking damage).
    - maybe your tank is over-taunting or not blocking heavy attacks from boss?

To provide more detailed help, we would need more information. What part of the bosses are the issue? Who can't you get past?

Since you specified that mobs were not an issue, but bosses were problematic, I am going to suspect it is a mechanics issue? The II versions of dungeons have more mechanics than the others, and the four DLC dungeons are even more complicated in that regard. On the plus side, once you understand what you need to do, they become much easier, at least on the normal version.

You can look up online guides for information on the mechanics, or specify the bosses causing issues here and someone can walk you through what to look for and what you need to do.
Why be normal when you can be better?

    Lady Kalila, Stamina Templar DPS
    Stands-in-Danger, Nightblade Saptank

You will find that most of the dungeons with the II modifier are the original Vet dungeons when the game was initially released. Even though it might be easier in Normal mode, it still requires knowledge of the boss mechanics to get through some of the fights. There are plenty of guides and videos on the net that can help you, and like others have mentioned, if you have a particular boss or dungeon you are struggling with, just post it here and I'm sure we can give you a hand.

    Hi all
We have zero difficulty doing BC I, FG I, SC I.

Those used to be the easy Group Dungeons as they are in the original Zone 1. They did not get all that harder with One Tamriel. As explained above, the II versions are the old Vet Versions, with not as much Health.

What you should do is go on to the Group Dungeons in the orignal Zone 2. You should be able to travel directly to those if you have completed the Zone 1 Dungeons. Or talk to the Undaunted in the main city in each zone and they can "discover" them for you on your map. Or, just use a Navigator, travel to the zone and walk to the dungeon.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.
